phobos21 Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 I am trying to get ReadyBoost to run on my Acer Aspire One netbook SD cared. Windows 7 says that it needs to be USB 2 to work. after some Googling it seems that the card reader is PCI. Is there a hack to get this to work. Quote
Sparda Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Have you tried enabling write caching in device manager? Quote
phobos21 Posted December 16, 2010 Author Posted December 16, 2010 Have you tried enabling write caching in device manager? The SD is listed under Portable Devises not Disk Drives so how do I enable write caching. I don't see a option. Quote
Sparda Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I meant choose "better performance" in device manager, but it has the same effect. Quote
Infiltrator Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I think this article can help you http://www.watchingthenet.com/windows-vista-tip-enable-any-usb-drive-to-work-with-readyboost.html Quote
phobos21 Posted December 16, 2010 Author Posted December 16, 2010 Thanks for the fast replies. I don't see "better performance" anywhere, nor did the link help; I don't get a stop restarting device... check box. Quote
Infiltrator Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I may be wrong here, but I read somewhere that in order to make readyboost perform well under Vista, you will need an USB stick that has been approved/designed for readyboost. Quote
phobos21 Posted December 20, 2010 Author Posted December 20, 2010 Your right. I will find some thing ells cool to do with my sd card slot. thanks for the help. Quote
