Doctor Who Build

for you doctor who fans on the board. i havnt seen this done before so i decided to make the river song diary. but dont look inside...spoilers. ;D

here is a screen shot of the actual book.

this is the book a used. found it in the attic an was never going to read it. also the pages were yellowed as the book is old so i figured it would make a good donation.

cut up a paper towel roll and a postal box to create the hard cover and binding

glued smaller piece on larger for binding

ruffled up pages to give it that worn look

painted a flat blue then melted design into paint with soldering iron. then filled in design with touch up paint of a darker color. then resprayed light coat of the flat blue. then used a water color black marker rubbed on the tip of a glove the rubbed on the book to create a worn look.

all done. still not 100% dry but i couldnt resist taking a pic an posting.

Impressive. You do deserve a C, how long did it take you to do all that work?

a few hours cause i had to let it dry between coats of paint. if you dont count the drying time, the actual work was probably 1.5 to 2 hours. filling in the design with the darker blue touch up paint took the most time.
