Mach3 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 10 Print Hello World 20 goto 10 First time caller, long time fan. I have unfortunately have an IPIBL-LA/Benicia-GL8E mother board and I would like to enable or find a work around for the lack of boot to usb functionality. I have not anything of use on the interwebz and would like to start doing some testing. Is there a work around to boot from a USB in this situation? Thanks! Mach3 Quote
Sparda Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 If a BIOS doesn't support booting from USB... the only way it can be added is with an update from the manufacturer, assuming it's not a hardware restriction. You can do some thing like make a boot disk (CD/Floppy) that attempts to boot from USB, but this may or may not work depending on the way USB is implemented on the motherboard. Quote
Mach3 Posted August 19, 2010 Author Posted August 19, 2010 Thanks Sparda! I appreciate the quick reply. Too bad. Quote
