Have you consider using a router and then implementing some routing protocol like rip, to connect the two devices together. I think this implementation will have some limitations depending on whether your router supports rip protocol or not. If it does then it should not be a problem. Infiltrator Posted April 22, 2010 Share Posted April 22, 2010 The thing is, I'm in student accommodation and the use of a router is prohibited; I only have my Netbook which is connected by Ethernet to the wall socket and my Tablet which uses 3G. (Note, I am also unable to use a wireless ad-hoc network, so I'm pretty limited.) Thats gonna be a bit tricky, due to the firewall ports being blocked.
