I Want To Get Started Right.

Just recieved my pineapple and was having a play around with it last night, i notice that the jasager and the wrt page are on 192.168.1.1, however this is the home page of my router also, a linksys WAG320N.

I messed about with the settings and changed the pineapple to DHCP i was able to find the homepage eventually as my router is a DHCP server also, took me a while though. This setup isnt ideal as ip's change when other things in the house startup.

My question is as the router gives out ip's starting 192.168.1.100 should i maybe set a static ip at say for talk sake 192.168.1.110 or can i set it at 192.168.1.2?

Sorry for such a noob question but as ive leanrt with new things in the past if you start of wrong it only leads to headaches further down the line.

Either IP you mentioned (1.110 or 1.2) will work. Personally when I static devices I leave 'em outside the DHCP pool so I'g go with 192.168.1.2.

Thanks for the reply Darren, i just wanted to make sure as i would be away on doing my own thing and then run in to trouble later on :)
