h3%5kr3w
This is pretty awesome to think about. Imagine it as a game. Would be fun for a con. You know how sometimes if you mistype a filename in Bash, it corrects your spelling and runs the command anyway? Such as when changing directory, or opening a file. I have invented Suicide Linux. Any time - any time - you type any remotely incorrect command, the interpreter creatively resolves it into "rm -rf /" and wipes your hard drive. It's a game. Like walking a tightrope. You have to see how long you can continue to use the operating system before losing all your data. aeiah
even though i use linux exclusively at home and half the time at work, i think id last about 20 minutes. 10 if my fingers are as cold as they are right now.
psydT0ne
That's the dumbest idea i've ever heard of.
wh1t3 and n3rdy
That's the dumbest idea i've ever heard of. +1 How about a windows box that sets off a tactical nuclear device whenever a dumb forum post is made?
beakmyn
+1 How about a windows box that sets off a tactical nuclear device whenever a dumb forum post is made? Wow, that's the best explanation of how the sun works that I've ever heard.
h3%5kr3w
Wow, it's so suprising that the way I posted this idea from someone else's blog especially for a specific purpose (if you didn't read it the first time, I suggested it would be a great game for a con) that everyone thinks it's dumb. Oh well. I still think it's a great idea. Well here's another one to add to your dumb posts: how about an electric chair that kills someone everytime firefox crashes? At least it has a good purpose. dr0p
I installed it once for laughs; I made it a few days of consistent use before that one evil keystroke.
wh1t3 and n3rdy
I don't use firefox so I guess i dodge that one too.
Whedgit
extremely tempting ....wish i knew for sure if it would only wipe a the virtual hard disk instead of the whole thing....cause i would hand it out to everyone in my linux class then :P
VaKo
If you run an OS in a VM, then baring VM breakout attacks, it will only wipe the VM, not the host OS.

bobdole369
Oh well. I still think it's a great idea. I also think it is a great idea. Grammar and spelling would improve greatly! Of course productivity would suffer, but I'm just that sort of masochist where it would be fun!
charm_quark
I think its a good idea, make you perfect the cmdline!
h3%5kr3w
I think it would be interesting just booting from an iso. maybe instead of deleting everything just make the cli a game that keeps score of your successful commands, and if you mistype, it dislays "Game Over" and restarts your point count or deducts from it and posts online. Hm... sounds like an interesting app.
