MadHatter
Hi Everyone, I just wanted to hear from some more experienced users about making a server. I have a nice desktop that could be adapted to any proxy, ssh, web hosting server needed, but i wanted to make a server that I could use for most of the episodes of hak5. I was thinking just a plain ssh server but was unsure. Thanks, MadHatter21

Ingo
Ofc there might be something that I don't know about but.... couldn't you just do them all? I mean slap Apache and PHP5 there, then slap SSH services on top of that and for proxies you can use either SSH or make PHPProxy on your webserver. VaKo
SSH is part of most *nix installs out the box, not really sure what you mean by an SSH server other than installing something and leaving it at that.
Ingo
But as you must be aware there are other operating systems than "*nix" based and even if MadHatter was going to use such my post should be pretty valid
VaKo
True, but with *nix SSH is a given, with Windows there are better things. As good as Apache is, I wouldn't touch it on a Windows box, IIS is much better.
Ingo
Well, I have very limited experiences with IIS, did install it once for school project, but didn't really get into it all that much, but I respect your opinion withdraw my comment :)
