grs
I have a Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H board with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ CPU. Yesterday when I powered it up I got a message saying K8 NPT DATA CHANGE...UPDATE NEW DATA TO DMI! It hangs on this and goes no further. What does it mean and how can I update the DMI? Sparda
Could mean that the BIOS settings stored in CMOS are corrupt, start by clearing CMOS! This could be the result of any number of things, including a dying battery, damaged CMOS flash or even software trying to modify the data on the CMOS, though this is unlikely. grs
The other day I took the SATA cable off the HDD to use on another PC I have. I also had the monitor, keyboard etc off. I have being using the PC everyday until two days. I found a guide on how to clear the CMOS, sound simple enough.
