Dazz Posted November 2, 2009 Share Posted November 2, 2009 I just discovered this piece of software which enables windows 7 computers to be truned into wifi hot spots. see here I wonder if a similar program to jasager could be implemented using this in place of a fon. digininja Posted November 2, 2009 Share Posted November 2, 2009 I doubt it because the way Jasager works is by using the Karma patches on the madwifi drivers so that the respond to any ESSID rather than just the one that they are setup to respond to. To make this app do the same you would need to modify whatever driver it is using to create the AP and as this looks like closed source that would be hard. digininja Posted November 2, 2009 Share Posted November 2, 2009 Most wireless cards are cable of doing AP mode so ye, it can be done. If you want to do it on a PC rather than the Fon look at Karma. It is the linux prequel of what is on the fon. I don't have a link to it on the site and I haven't updated it for a while but I have got a working version available which I can give you if you are prepared to get your hands dirty to install it.
