digivore
Having a problem with drivers for the Alfa in Ubuntu. First off, the Alfa Detects and seems to be working with the RTL8187 drivers. However, I installed the latest R8187 drivers, and I get even more power/range and it supports injection etc... The problem I'm encountering is that when I use the RTL8187 drivers, I can't connect to my access point when it is encrypted in WEP or WPA. But when I 'rmmod R8187" and "modprobe RTL8187" I can connect to any AP. but the range really sucks. not satisfied. I would like to be able to connect to My WPA Access Point with the R8187 drivers. Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks in Advance.
anguish79
I think I just have issues with wifi in general with Ubuntu. I use my Alfa with a Dell Mini 10v, and the wifi on both sides seems to suck in Ubuntu. No issues at all with Windows, nor OS X with the built in wifi (haven't tried the Alfa, and I need to reinstall OS X). I get issues with connecting, and then issues with staying connected, and probably a few other things I'm forgetting about.
