evo
Basically, i'm building a home sever for a friend. intel i7 920 12gb ram 9tb and would like to run some kinda of bare metal solution on it. But because of my low budget I can't really afford a 3rd party RAID card, so does anybody know of any mobos that ESXi / Citrix XenServer supports in terms of storage controllers. I wouldn't be using RAID so that's not a concern if it's not supported. Just aslong as I can access the drives (SATA II) (note sorry if this is the wrong thread.) Netshroud
The P6T Deluxe V2 shown in Episode 519 has a ICH10R, which is supported by ESXi. Just look for a board with a compatible southbridge.

Netshroud
No, those storage devices look like standalone Xen storage boxes, not storage controllers.

Netshroud
Yep. As long as you dont plug the drive into a different controller, such as some motherboards (like mine) that have a standard Intel ICH(whatever) for SATA, and another controller such as an iTE one, for PATA.
