miT
Furk.net is like torrents meet rapidshare. Not only can you host files on their servers permanently (if its not touched in 30 days it gets deleted) but you can also search + download files at break neck speeds. No more leaving your torrent app running for days on end! I don't know how this will benefit the torrent scene, but it sure is badass! miT
Yeah, I just read about this over at TorrentFreak. Im currently downloading something off it ive been trying to get for weeks at about 800kbps when compared to the high of 3kbps ive been getting. Heard about it from TF as well, im subbed to their RSS feed. In their article they said they topped out @ 20mbps on the free account, i've only topped out at 1.1 so far

Sparda
Invalid security certificate? Are these furkers to be trusted? the certificate was issued for *.furk.net. The link in the OP's post sends you to furk.net, add www. to the front.

dr0p
It defeats the whole purpose of the torrenting... I lurve to share too much to use a service like that.
miT
It defeats the whole purpose of the torrenting... I lurve to share too much to use a service like that. That's what i was thinking. Some of the more popular torrents have direct download links, others just use Furk as a proxy, so it's still seeding back for you.

Sparda
I this link you added https://furk.net instead of http://furk.net for this reason it looks broken not quite, the correct URL so that the certificate is valid is https://www.furk.net
miT
not quite, the correct URL so that the certificate is valid is https://www.furk.net Wow, i didn't think people would be having so many issues with the URL. I have edited the URL in the first post to reflect the CORRECT path, i apologize about this issue as i was unaware of their SSL certificate problem. Somken
Thanks for sharing. I will use for sure. Oh, javascirpt:alert(startDownload(1)) is your friend.
miT
Thanks for sharing. I will use for sure. Oh, javascirpt:alert(startDownload(1)) is your friend. I know very little (ok, nothing) about java scripting. Care to share on how that could be my friend?
lazaruswws
I do think it is funny that they took the search term cloud off the homepage because it was clear that a great number of people were using the internet for porn.

cykio
tried it out and it did the first 25mb then just stopped and I had used my 1 attempt a day for guest account..
miT
tried it out and it did the first 25mb then just stopped and I had used my 1 attempt a day for guest account.. Yeah I'm trying it out again right now and its going terribly slow. It seems they finally figured out how to cap the guest accounts to get some more revenue for the premium accounts. I'm toying with the idea to try it out for a month and see how it stacks up to the OMGIRC giganews SSL newsgroups account.
Somken
This is easy to explain. Why you get to the page that says wait for 30 seconds, or what ever, type javascirpt:alert(startDownload(1)) into your URL bar and hit enter. A alert box will pop up. Just hit OK and your download is ready to start.
