GPS tracking on cell phones

i was wondering if there was a way to look at where someone is using their phones GPS?

this person has a trackphone cell phone and hes missing. i know this may seem like a stupid question but in all honesty im worried about them. i cant really go into details but its a family member.

if i can get any help that would be great

Uhm, they would have to have some sort of software already installed on their phone that automatically lets you know where they are... you can't just bust into someone's phone because it has GPS capabilites. If you're really worried, and you are family, you can go to the carrier and they can tell you the last location of the tower that the phone registered at through its IMEI number but you're really going to need to prove to them who you are etc. before they're going to do this for you.

thanks for the info. i know its a noob question and all but im fazzled at the moment and just cant think clearly. as its a pay as you go phone they probably wont let me know.

Get the police involved, you can't request jack shit from the phone network (unless you have paid for a tracking service), but file a missing persons report and tell the police you know they have there phone on them and they will be able to use formal channels to request that information. Once you get the person back, you might want to lojack there phone.
