Deathray Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Everytime I boot my fonera, I have to manually click the "Change" button next to "Karma is currently: OFF" on the web interface for jasager. Is there any way to automate that? :) Quote
h3%5kr3w Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Newbie in need is a newbie indeed :P sry, just had to say it. I did try to search around but couldnt find it. I know you'll have to edit something in /etc/init.d/ Quote
digininja Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 There is a thread where someone detailed it properly but basically you need to edit /etc/init.d/S??jasager and add something like wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode ap iwpriv ath0 karma 1 iwconfig ath0 channel <choose a channel> ifconfig ath0 <IP> up That should roughly do it. The reason I don't start it automatically is that it is a security risk. Every time you plug your Fon in you create an open path into your network, I'd rather do that manually when I know that I want it enabled because you can guarantee that at some point you'll turn it on and forget about it.
