Siv
Requirements: - 2 Gigabit Ethernet Ports - Embedded system should be running Linux or any BSD variation Any recommendations?
VaKo
Openfiller is quite nice, then just use a Via C7/Nano or Intel Atom based bit of hardware. Otherwise look at Qnap kit.
stingwray
My personal recommendation is build your own. If you shop around you can get something much more powerful which will give actual performance which will make use of Gigabit ethernet and be less than a standalone NAS box. Scorpion
FreeNAS is ok too thats what i use and it's great when everything can be accessed from a web browser. Just recently install a ps3media server on it so now it streams my music and videos. (does itunes as well) www.freenas.org
Siv
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I Decided to build my own. Looks like FreeNAS 0.7 supports ZFS now which is friggin sweet.
VaKo
ZFS really needs x64 and lots of memory to work properly.
