Yeah, I know I could do that. I also know that I spent $300 on that POFS box, which has RRoD 3 times, and that I shouldn't have to fix something they chose not to support. (i don't care if they manufactured those adapters before wpa2 became standard or not)

Its shit like the above that makes me glad I never rushed out and purchased an x-box.

lol I will never forget the day my mate was talking up the 360 and how much better it is compaired to the PS3 (such a fan boy), during his rant in comes the RROD to save the day.

Still think X-box is the shit?? me thinks not!

I know for a fact it's fail (at least unless you JUST bought one which... they been out for... how long?) PS3 is coming around and it's potential is STILL not tapped, so by the time the Ring Fail 3 comes out from M$, the PS3 will still be just as good, and should be cheaper... ALOT cheaper. Hell would'nt suprise me till MS just waited until the PS3 will be replaced to bring out another xbox. l

I have my SSID set to puppies

WPA2

and a second router "homenetwork" with a very weak wep which i have a old 533MHz pc hooked up to and running a packet sniffer, i only turn it on when I can actively monitor it because there are a few people who like to steal wifi around here and I have collected many logins for many sites, and using the info i am able to find out who exactly they are in the area.

I use a weak pass so only people trying to get through it will get in, other random people will not be able to get in. great way to find the jerks in the area who will actually break into a network for the purpose of stealing bandwidth (and if they become too much of a jerk, you can log in to their social networks and post porn on it)

Mines BuffaloGame (on a buffalo WHR-HP-G54 running tomato) with no broadcast, mac filter and wpa

The other is BuffaloN (Belkin N router boardcasting, mac filtering and wpa2)

Some reason my PS3 lags on the belkin router but not on the other

lol@ Razor's porn suggestion, or you could go door knocking and punch the TWAT in the face. =)

There is a park not to far from my house and when I walk to the shops I always see different people sitting on the bench with a laptop out. One of these days I am gonna set up shop and have some fun with these people.

Scorpion: That would be due to belkin being shit (well a fair few models of their's anyways). The whirlpool networking forum get posts like your pretty much every day and the solution is always the same. God help you and Fuck off the belkin gear.

My Router (Linksys WRT54GL)(running Tomato 1.23)

SSID: DD-WRT Private

Broadcast: Enabled

WPA/WPA2 Protected (Random Button bashing ftw!)

MAC Filtering: Disabled

Modem (NetGear DG834N)(Running in Modem only Mode)

SSID: O2 Wireless Broadband

Broadcast: Enabled

WPA/WPA2: Protected (Once again, (difference) random button bushing)

MAC Filtering: Disabled

It looks pretty weak but over here in England I don't have Usage caps and when I notice a difference I just check out what the issue is on Tomato, but its never an outside issue, its almost always me being forgetful. Nobody near here has the technical know-how to even hack WEP, so I am pretty safe, no intruders yet. The flaw is probably the modem, because I can't monitor it too well, but I need it because I occasionally host gaming servers. Its SSID is the name of our ISP because the router they provided had that name too, and when all the computer remember the details for that, it just seems easier to duplicate the auth settings over from 1 machine rather than go around 6-7 devices changing the details every time.
