LAN subnet connections

On a subnetted wired LAN I want to move a winxp notebook and plug in to any class c segment without allowing the user to change the interface. What do I need to do to allow this seamless use?

DHCP in each subnet.

Somebody needs to change the IP address and if you don't want the user to do it, then it has to be DHCP or some other automated method.

Location Profiles? Dells and Thinkpads have this and it allows you to create a few different connections and swap between them with a single click. I may be way off base here so could you provide a little more detail on your setup and what you want to achieve?
