catchyanow Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Microsoft has released a pach that stops auto run files from running. That includes: CD-ROM device, USB device, network shares, or other media containing a file system with an Autorun.inf file. Read more at: http://is.gd/kItv Quote
Destro Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Hmmm I bet there is a flaw in it or hope. Then again if the update is not asked then most people won't navigate to that page. You should check for exploits in it, I can't sorry. cheers, Destro Quote
DingleBerries Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 If people do not already have it disabled then this isnt going to disable for you automatically. Quote
IOSys Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Is this a security vulnerability that requires Microsoft to issue a security update? No. Disabling the Autorun feature is an optional configuration that some customers may choose to deploy. This feature is not appropriate for all customers. & This is a security advisory about a non-security update. Isn’t that a contradiction? LOL .. cozz this ain't a "vulnerability", it's a "feature" .
