shonen
lol @ Destro for someone who cant write a lot on a phone you seem to do a pretty damn good job of it =P Ok firstly props for the topic it was a most excellent choice. A year or so ago I found newly restored interest in computers and hacking that I placed on the back burner back when I was a teenager. My new found interest was more than likely due to me not being a complete lazy pot head who sat on his ass playing online games for hours on end once I finished my shift at the video store. Anyways I was reading a fair few online I.T/hacking tutorials and thought there has to be an easier way to do some of these things with video footage, I took it to a youtube search and came across hack.5 After six month's of watching the show and doing a bit of reading on the side I finally decided to give up my day job and enroll in a Networking course to get myself started in the I.T industry/started hitting up the forums in here and I haven't looked back since. I will admit I have had a slight bitch about the level of teaching provided by my school in some previous postings but thanks to the show and the community (special thanks to hex) in the forums it has helped fill in a fair amount of blanks. One thing I really have to give credit to is the members in here, you don't cop that your a FUCKING N00B treatment unlike the majority of forums. Sure you may get the odd witty remark at your expense but its nothing personal and at the end of the day everyone is more than willing to share their knowladge, expertise and experience. Seriously you all deserve a pat on the back.

Yes the furoms here are amazing. I think the best part is how their is a bit of each thing. There's video tutorials, basic code, other topics, and best of all a strong community. cheers, Destro p.s. Sorry I can't give a better put response the Internet is on and off again and it's takig me forever to write this!

soundguymike
I somehow found Hak5 during season 1 about episode 3.5 I think I was just googleing iptv at the time. I have watched ever since. There were many things I have learned from various episodes through the years. I think that it is shows like this that keep me from stagnating and getting satisfied with what I already know always showing new and cool things to explore and play with. shonen
Anything to do with selling stuff to the public is BAD. A video store would be worse though, people have a hard time paying for stuff they have to return or paying over dues for movies they didn't watch (I fail to see how thats my fault and my care factor is around 0) God bless networking, lock me in a server room with blinky fucking lights all day long! :D

h3%5kr3w
yah, any public relations jobs suck ass. I do reservations for a casino hotel, so I know the feeling trust me.... But umm... you do know you have to deal with the employees as an administrator though right? Well.. Then again that's what they have Virtual Desktop for though :D
jkdelauney
@jfranklin I remeber watching your episode and you talking about the drive that made you learn php that night. I am pretty sure it took you 5 hours. Did you learn almost fluent now or have you not been playing with it as much? I jump around a lot, so no I really haven't revisited it much since that episode. I have automated a few things on my network with it, but nothing special. At the moment I'm playing with the teensy, and in general setting up an electronics workbench. Have a few things on the back burner that will likely make use of PHP, those will come to light sooner rather than later I hope.

One of my class mates is on a sex strike from the missus because he allowcates to much time on his packet tracer labs and she is getting a lil upset, he brought this up during lunch and I was like well its your fault you neglected to issue the noshut syntax. =P
