underhole
So I'm a retard and forgot my password to my vista box. Now before every one starts flaming me and telling me to use ophcrack or one of the other million live discs that do this. Windows is installed on a raid, so ophcrack and every other distro I have tried so far cant see it. Any one have any ideas?

By that you mean, even if you load the correct RAID drivers it still doesn't see it? Have you tried something like lostpassword.com. They won't recover the password but you can reset it. I've always used them to reset the password to blank, never had luck with using them to change a password. http://dailycupoftech.com/2009/02/26/vista...ry-helps-widow/ ^ He did on a RAID system. Your mileage may vary.

VaKo
You can use Windows PE2, add the drivers to access the RAID and access the array. Once you can do this you just copy the relevant files to a usb stick and crack them offline.
dennis123123
Yeah winpe2+drivers is the way to go, grab the sams and run them through ophcrack. I have the 8gig or so ntlm set, so if you are stuck, put the file up here and ill run it through for you to see how that goes. it covers: character set: up to length 6: 0-9A-Za-z !"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`{|}~ length 7: 0-9A-Za-z length 8: 0-9a-z
sablefoxx
http://hak5.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=12062 You'll need to patch in the RAID drivers, or Press F6 at Boot. Use the Utilman Hacks, shell spawn or root account maker will let you reset the password. Or use your Vista disk to boot into recovery console and add a new admin account.
