virtual box ubuntu as guest on vista host

sometimes i'm using vista and i dont feel like rebooting to go to linux to play with ettercap filters, so i installed virtual box and ubuntu. my internet in ubuntu thinks its from a wired connection because in virtual box i set it up as "attached to host"(my wireless in vista') i got the internet to work in my virtual ubuntu and it runs my scripts, but since it runs through all that, my MITM scripts work fine on my end leave my friends computers with white screens and hour glasses.

im sure there's a faster way to do this but how? is there a way to completely steal internet away from my vista host so my virtual ubuntu can manipulate the data at the speed it normally would?

like Einstein said 'i am not a genius i am just passionately curious'

can anyone point me in the right direction?
