nullArray
Over the next week or so, we're going to be moving one of the labs over to SunRay thin clients. It seems like a wonderful idea from a electricity saving, upkeep and repair standpoint. The students and researchers that use the lab rarely use anything that requires a lot of system power and the calculations are always performed on the servers anyway. It's genius!, why don't more places do this?
VaKo
Thin clients are great, if you have the correct setup. I don't really see a need for finance clerks or similar to have full sized desktops in a large organization. Been trying to get the senior sys-admin at my place to look into them but he's not so convinced.
stingwray
Its practically needed on a banks trading floor now, its too difficult to cool each of their 4 computers and 9 monitors!
h3%5kr3w
shoo... sounds to me like you need to get yourself a boat load of these, a crapload of ram for the server,an auto switching 10/100/gigabit switch and you got yourself one SMOOOTH operation.
