Hi guys!

Me and my friend Vcent just got the Fonera 2.0 Beta.

I followed digininja and other peoples suggestions, and used this guide to flash it using the AP51 Easyflash utility (ap51-flash-gui.exe) to flash the gargoyle_1.0.0_beta3-fonplus-2.6-vmlinux.lzma and gargoyle_1.0.0_beta3-fonplus-2.6-root.squashfs files to the router.

Then i installed all the ipkg's including Jasager, and it worked fine.. But it never broadcasted other SSID's than the "La Fonera", regardless of the diffent ones i added using the different confiuration options the Jasager Webif provides, like adding a whole bunch of SSID's.

And i couldn't connect to the La Fonera SSID using my computer.

So i decided to try over, but the Easyflash utility suddenly didn't work, and i had to use redboot manually. I did that using the guide at Fon's Wiki, and everything worked fine, including flashing from redboot, but it wouldn't work properly aferwards, LAN+WAN+WiFi all were broken, so i decided to try again, but now with the Gargoyle firmware.

But i really am NOT a Redboot nerd, so can anyone give me some advice on how to flash the Gargoyle firmware using Redboot?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Jasager doesn't broadcast any ssid so if you had it setup correctly and you were seeing an AP then it was working correctly. Karma responds to any probes you send out. If your wifi had previosly been connected to an SSID or "La Fonera" and was still probing for it then karma would see that and let you connect. Sounds like you may have got it right first time.

So i decided to try over, but the Easyflash utility suddenly didn't work, and i had to use redboot manually. I'd go for the 8.09 openwrt release. That works fine on the Fon+ so will probably work ok on this one as well. There are good instructions for installing redboot by hand on the openwrt wiki, just swap the 8.09 files for the 7.09 ones. You'll also have to grab different packages from the openwrt download area due to dependencies.

Which reminds me I need to rebuild madwifi with karma patches for 8.09. Will try to get it done this evening.

Thanks for the reply digininja:) I didn't write this in my first post, but i tried to connect to random SSID's from my vista box, which Jasager should have responded to if it worked, but i couldn't connect.

Hmm, then i'll not be able to install jasager untill you've released the rebuilt madwifi?

If you can get the 7.09 kamekazi installed then you can get it working, if not then you'll need madwifi for 8.09

I couldn't get the Kamikaze 7.09 working, not with manual Redboot and not with Easyflash.

I _can_ get the Gargoyle FW to work, but is it best i try the openwrt 8.09 RC_1 first? That is, if you've recompiled the madwifi drivers.

OK:D Just installed it, and testing now... I HAVE to try that drink:

It didn't even crash after installing Jasager.

So, Jasager works just fine on the fonera 2.0? If so are you able to save logs and modules to a usb stick? If the answer to these questions are yes, then I am going to wait untill the fon 2.0 final comes out to buy a fon to install Jasager on.

Thanks in advance!

I dont think the USB drivers have been implemented into OpenWrt Yet... But I really wish i would have bought one when it was available instead on the Fon+
