post_break
Mubix and I were brainstorming on how to defend against Jasager and we came up with this theory. I'm not trying to pimp his or my blog but just thought people might find it interesting. If you have any other ways please post them in this thread as I would really like to see some other ideas. DingleBerries
Check to see if you are really at home IF NOT why are you connected to HomeWirlessNetwork? Download the my router extension for FF and see what type of router your connected to, if fon, disconnect or ddos for fun. Do not have windows auto connect to access points. Machstorm
That is a good idea while you are at home, but lets say you are not at home and you are traveling. There will be a point where you just connect without thinking about it (it happens we are all human). I would like to see some sort of application that would pop up a window with some granular information about the access point so I can plainly see whether it's a Fon or not. Wait a tick, I could work on that next semester in Java. The only scary thought is that someone with enough savvy could apply Jasager (or something like it) to a Cisco router and apply a clever naming scheme. post_break
From what I read in the comments of the link zone alarm will let you know of the MAC address of a remembered AP has changed. Pretty much a guaranteed warning for windows users.
