Reflux
Some of my quota entries on my smb server keeps giving my entries with "[Account Information Unavailable]" under name and a weird number under login name "S-x-x-xx-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxx" the Xs being numbers. Some of these accounts say they take up quite a bit of disk space. Is it safe to delete their entries?
VaKo
Thats a SID, it will refer to windows user accounts that your server cannot locate, ie they have been deleted or the server cannot contact the DC which holds these records. While its safe to remove the permission and owner entrys refering to these accounts I would advise combing the data they refer to before removing them wholesale.
