Linux Screen Capture?

I'm running Ubuntu 8.04LTS Desktop

I'm looking for a low-resource intensive screen capture application that will run smooth even when using compix effects such as the cube. I've tried a few but they come out laggy.

I like camstudio but its for windows

oooooooh! Hey, do you think it'll work with wine? I havn't tried it but I hear wine works well for windows apps in linux

i will say this... wine has come a long way since the days that I remember of redhat 7.1 hehehe might work check it out

I could be wrong but i dont think cam studio works in wine i tried it a few different times but that could have changed.

Maybe try recordMyDesktop it is a linux solution for recording your desktop.
