The link I posted still works...

http://wikisend.com/download/526724/PandoraSaver.zip

and, yes, this app still works as long as you live in the U.S. (due to pandora's licensing  )

It may be just me, but, I am unable to download today, I get an error when using

http://wikisend.com/download/526724/PandoraSaver.zip

We are sorry, but the requested file doesn't exist or has expired and is no longer available.

You can return to the download page and try again.

This is an awesome tool and works great although it would be nice to be able to keep the original mp4 file for future processing or debugging but at least the encoding process gives you some time to copy it to another location. Also I have uploaded a copy of the plugin to my site as a permenant mirror so there won't be any more issues with expired links.

[EDIT]

Ok after using it for some time and playing with the options there is only one issue I have with it. You can't actually change the home page reload time. Not matter what it is set to it always reverts back to 30min when you apply it.

Hi,

I only know a bit of DOS .BATch file coding so i'm unlikely

to ever be of help here but i wanted to let you know in

public that i've been hoping to reach about some fresh new

solution like this one for quite a while. You can be proud!

My setup is WinXP Pro w/SP2 and only the .net framework 1.1 and 2 loaded - no other updates. Downloaded the latest Java and Flash as of this writing, followed the instructions posted by MoparMan and the link by Haldrie and it's running great.

I walked away for maybe an hour (?) and a popup was waiting for me; "Are you still there?". Something else to signup for that will give uninterrupted service. I'll wait for the next time and find out what is needed.

One feature request, if possible - the ability NOT to convert to MP3 and/or NOT to delete the MP4 and/or the WAV file. (MP4's are good for me)

Kudos to the author!!! Thank you VERY much!

Edit - seems you need a $36/yr subscription to get around the "Are you still there" every half hour or hour.

That is why this plugin will send a refresh command through internet explorer depending on the time setting you used. As I underlined/bolded above, it only works if you have pandora running in internet explorer (NOT sidebar gadget or firefox or others). Also, I noticed that this feature is glitchy. at times it can run for hours and keep refreshing, and other times it doesnt even make it past 30 mins. I beleave that this might have something to do with I.E. not having focus or not....or it just could be glitchy, dunno.

Another issue that I have found is that once in a while I get "unable to rename song.mp3.tmp to song.mp3. the file already exists." when in about 78% of the time the song DOES NOT exist. Does anybody know how to fix this? I know jack about C#. between working 2 jobs (one full time and the other almost full time), I have no time to learn C# atm.

That has happened to me too . . . I have it set to refresh every 30 minutes, but sometimes it doesn't a little quicker. It hasn't caused any problems yet.

Haven't ran into this yet . . . thankfully.

I seem to be doing something wrong? -- I got Fiddler2 running, added the plugin, and setup the file url in Firefox to auto-check if fiddler is running, and run through the proxy. I know Firefox is running through the proxy because I can see all the requests, and PandoraSaver's log is filling up ... but no song files.

i can't get this to work. i have tried two different computers. i followed the steps carefully. the "log.txt" grows and grows, but no mp3 files are ever created. fiddler is working, and i have tried a computer with IE6 and one with IE7.

how can i make this work?

I just figured out what was wrong with my capturing ... I didn't have the latest version of shockwave flash. I am now using Flash v10.0r12 and it works perfectly.

@madbear & SmoothCriminal - I suggest checking what your versions are. http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewConten...rnalId=tn_15507

Ok, I'm both making my own timeshifter and editing this one ... soon to come: mp3 bitrate of 320 (hells yeah!), folderizing the songs, and maybe an option to disable mp4 --> mp3 conversion.

*EDIT: oh yeah .. and I changed around the auto-refresh code (added it to the headers, instead of randomly in the middle of the page), so it should work properly.

Yay! version 1.0.0.1! (i hope you don't mind OP .. the source was included)

Comments?

Every once in awhile, the song doesn't download and pandora stops playing songs giving me a message that says it will take awhile to load the song. Here is the Fiddler header for it:

I have the latest version of shockwave installed, as far as I can tell, that is not the issue.

@Edge333: I don't see anything wrong with your headers... they are basically the same as mine. Does PandoraSaver capture the song? .. and this only happens when you have PandoraSaver running?

Posted

Just so you all know....

1: this plugin/fiddler works at the NETWORK layer, hence it doesnt matter what version of shockwave/flash you use. If youre browser can play pandora, then fiddler can capture it.

2: If you read the readme/info that came with fiddler, it states that Internet explorer is automatically configured to use fiddler by default, while firefox IS NOT. (unless this has changed, dunno). Just to be sure that those that are trying to use this with firefox, look at the website to see how it should be set up to work with firefox (and to search the boards on how to make it work with fiddler AND a proxy for those that live outside of the US. And, before you ask, no, I dont know as of yet on how to do that, no need to because I live in the US :D ).

AND.....

For those that know it is setup properly but cant get it to work properly (unknown song, ect, ect), how are you running pandora? If you dont have an account, create one (it is free), and add at least one "station" to it. Try that and see if it works for you then.

ALSO....

If you run into the "pandora is tring to figure out what song to play next" issue, there is a simple fix for that...add more stations! The more stations you add, the greater variety of music pandora has access to in order to play. My station list consists of 23 stations, so I can run pandora before I go to bed, and when I get up in the morning, it is STILL turning out songs with no issues (the flukes I had before has not appeared since....must have been something with the PC at the time).

Posted

@Hobbit - with mine, it always says no-cache, no-store must revalidate for the cache control when it doesn't save a song.

@Mopar man - I have a lot of stations. It never gives me the "pandora is trying to figure out what song to play next" message when I don't have fiddler running or trying to use pandora saver. I normally don't play pandora in internet explorer because I use firefox but I started using it because fiddler uses it as the default. Although that might have nothing to do with it.

Posted

@MoparMan: Actually, it does matter what version you have. Pandora's packets are sent differently depending on what version of flash you have. This program (as it is now) can not capture if you have flashv8. Just because it works at a network level doesn't mean things aren't sent differently because of random variables.

@Edge333: With my experience, most anything that is useful from pandora is set to "no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate". ex. xml showing what the next songs are, and the song itself. The only thing useful that's not sent that way is the album images.
