gEEEk Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Hey guys. A quick question. Can you host your own .com / co.uk domain? For example I host: www.mydomainowns.com Then I bind it to my IP / servers IP. .. Hard to explain.. Can I host my own domain name? And then bind it to a specific server.. Quote

Yes you can, your ISP might not let you. Quote
KeelBug Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Ive found most ISPs in Australia charge about AU$20 for a "setup" fee to alter their DNS entry and get your IP to resolve to a hostname. Just send em a mail about it. Quote
gEEEk Posted October 1, 2008 Author Posted October 1, 2008 Allright, thanks for the replies :) /gEEEk Quote
MRGRIM Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Yes you can. You'll need a static IP or you'll have to use a service like ZoneEdit or DynDNS Quote
