I have no use for my MK5 and really need a repeater. https://forums.hak5....-as-a-repeater/ In the above thread he says flash dd-wrt? I was hoping since the Pineapple software is based off OpenWrt a flash of unmodified OpenWrt will be possible.
I live in a deep, off-grid situation and currently use satellite internet. Satellite is inferior. I have access to an ISP's fixed wireless tower 4 miles away, but there is tall terrain between me and them. I need to circumvent the tall terrain. So I would like to put a repeater on a cliff location (1 mile from me) that has line-of-site to me and the also tower. I have a spare solar array to power the gear. This may be the solution for me. A "Ubiquiti NB-5G22 NanoBridge M5" seems like it has potential for me. I'd like to warmly ask two questions... Can anybody please help me with selecting and purchasing equipment to do this? Or can anbyody point me to somebody who can help? Here is my LOS Study if it helps: http://www.brandvandal.com/transfercase/ecovillage-LOS-study.pdf Any help is appreciated.
Hi Guys, Once again I have a real world application question. I'm currious if anyone has done this or has the answer for it. Since a repeater is similar to a client, can the pineapple deauth a wifi repeater and trick it to connecting to the pineapple? The environment I have in mind is a campus where the wifi is an open network, but somehow in this massive building you always have a good signal (I'm thinking they have placed a lot of repeaters around the place) I'm currious because I have heard of some techs will daisy chain repeaters to stretch the coverage and if you could hook one, you could hook a large area, meaning a very large pool of potential amusement. I look forward to your thoughts. - SF
