  1. HI have an Alienware m17 with a dual boot with parrotsec and windows 10. There were no clear problems before and I just went to turn on my computer just like any other time. For some reason it will not turn on. Anyone have any advice? Edit: My charger seems to be working fine. Also my laptop shows no lights and nothing on screen. It won’t turn on at all. I also looked at some troubleshooting guides online and none have worked so far.
  2. Darren / Seb, I have a couple questions regarding the cables and batteries that are included with theTetra and the Nano. 1) For the Nano, why did you decide to only include a USB power cable but not one that could be used to tether it (for setup)? It would be nice if the produce page in the Hak shop was a little more clear on this. Along with the Youtube setup video at .2) Why didn't you include an AC adapter to power the tetra? For $200 or $300, I feel like it should have come with one. To me, it's kind of like linksys sending a battery with their routers instead of a power cord. 3) Is there a way you can put together a small insert or pamphlet with batteries on future purchases? It would be nice to not have to search out information on forums about them. Some of the questions I had when I got mine were: Does the battery have to be charged when you receive it? or Does it come fully charged? How long should the battery be charged the first time? How long do subsequent charges take? Are they all the same length? Should the battery be drained completely before recharging? or is it safe to charge again when it's 50% drained? Approximately how many charging cycles should be expected from a battery of this type? Does the battery have to be turned on or off to charge? How do we know when the charging is complete? Will all the lights stay solid? What should we expect with the lights while charging? ie will each light flash and then stay solid to show that it's 25%, 50%, 75% complete etc.
  3. My Tetra works perfectly when connected on the 12v plug of the Tetra but does not work when powered by USB, whether on my Linux Laptop or from an external battery like the pineapple juice 15000 sold by hak5. For your information, I connect on the plug eth1 of the Tetra with the Y USB cable. Any idea? Thank you.
  4. What's the proper way to supply power straight from an wall outlet to NANO?
  5. Wondering what the specs are for bandwidth of radios in the Pineapple Tetra. Digital power meters use frequencies somewhere around the 2.4ghz WiFi signals. Curious to see what they say and wondering if the Tetra can be used to listen to them (no way would I try to lower my electric bill...trust me, I'm from the government and I'm here to help) I'm sure they would find little humor if they found someone that was altering what the power meter (gas meters too...some places even water meters)...
  6. Does anyone know if there is anything simple inside that I could use to tell if WiFi is on or off? I'm looking at situation where I absolutely, positively cannot do any emissions. Was thinking perhaps hooking a small LED indicator. The display LEDs seem to have a mind of their own..
  7. As the title says, I often have to reboot the nano due to power outage or swapping power supplies, this causes me to have to log in again via the web GUI, but this causes a loss of all the Recon data, which is a pain if its been going for >10min. Does anyone know how to keep a persistent log of the recon data so that only a new recon would wipe it? Cheers
  8. So I was reading around and I read that you should use a powered USB hub for the Wifi Pineapple. However, the post I found was in 2012 so I am unsure if this is still needed. I would like to know if I should get a powered USB Hub, or if it even matters with the Wifi Pineapple Nano. If I should, would the item from Amazon okay? Link to 2012 Post: https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/27549-usb-hub-powered-by-wifi-pineapple/ Link to product: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0192LPK5M/ref=psdc_281413_t2_B00DQFGH80
  9. Hi, So I am testing out how to maximize the power and range of the tetra. I bought 4 wireless power boosters from the hakshop and tried them on all 4 antennas , for some reason, epic failure because I did not notice that the tetra antennas inputs are female and so are the power boosters.... so that does not work. I got 9dbi antennas from atheros .... another epic fail, its as if there are no antennas.. soooooooooo my question is, how to maximize the power on this beast.
  10. I'm new to the Nano, so pls forgive the basic question, but.... do both of the USB plugs that I plug into my PC provide power to the unit? Or does one provide power and the other provide comms, for example? I think it's the former, but I just want to be sure. Thanks!
  11. Hey all I've been playing around with my new USB power meter, and I wanted to run my math past you to see if I am thinking right. Attached are some pictures, but in general, my NANO seems to draw .50 amps or less. Usually its in the .40 range with a dongle plugged into WLAN2. if my math is right, .40 amp converts to 400milliamps. if we take a 15000mAh battery, we would get appx 26 hours of runtime? (15000 / 350 x 0.7* = 26.25) Does this sound about right? The pineapple juice battery is rated at 4000mAh which is good for about 7 hours. Overall I've been shocked at how little the NANO consumes. I have run PineAP, DNSspood, and evilportal with clients connected and it was consuming around .70amps (700 milliamps) I did notice it goes way up depending on the dongle your using for WLAN2 obviously. If my math is wrong let me know!
