  1. Hi there, I'd like to know what does TKIP and CCMP mean for the Wifi Pineapple MkVii? I understand that CCMP and TKIP are security protocols for WPA and WPA2. But I would like to know what they mean when using recon for Wifi Pineapples? Does it mean that the Handshakes will be easier to intercept for TKIP or CCMP? or Does it mean that Wifi Passwords will be easily cracked for CCMP or TKIP? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you!
  2. HI, A couple of weeks ago I wanted to update my wifi Pineapple to the latest software however, it seemed to never end.. I was busy so I left it aside for a later recovery. Today I decided to give it some time. Everything seems to be fine to the point where I upload the recovery bin file (checksum matching). From that point onwards it seems like nothing is happening. The led is red solid. From time to time I see the eth1 interface (which is the pineapple) is assigned an IPv6 address. Then it's unassigned then assigned again. There are even some rx and tx packets. Is there any other step to get this finally sorted? I had been in that state for a long time now.. much more longer that the 5-10 mins it should have taken... Thanks for helping ! -------------------------------------------- SOLVED After i posted this, I unplugged it, pressed the reset button, plugged it back in and released the reset button after the red led flashed for the third time and refreshed the the recovery page. The led turned purple and the page then said the updating was in progress and it was up and running again a couple of minutes later. Not sure why it had this behavior as the recovery guide says not to unplug it. Anyways, good new 😌
  3. Hey, I wanted to ask if the wifi pineapple ist 'legal' in germany and maybe whether the customs is a problem or not. Thank you!
  4. I have wanted to get pineapple for a while now, however I would prefer getting the tactical version. While originally wanting to get a tetra, i have seen tons of complaints about it and they don't seem to be stopping. However, it seems like the Nano is more stable and therefore now want to get the nano. I've got several questions: 1) Is it worth buying a pineapple when there are other options like FruityWifi available? does the pineapple have more functions etc.? 2) How stable is the Nano in doing its job? (do all the modules work) 3) when will the tactical versions be back in stock? (mainly a question to @Darren Kitchen if he sees this) Thank you
  5. Hello all, Been messing around with my Wifi Pineapple Nano, and looked at the "Wifi Pineapple Connector" app. The play store link in the setup instructions is a dead link, and I can't find it on the play store. Upon some Googling, I saw this forum post where a developer said that the app was deprecated. If this is true, I believe that the link should be removed from the setup instructions. No real harm to me, I was just curious about what the app did. Thank you.

  7. How do I delete old obsolete Recon scans? It would also be nice if settings in PineappleAP would syncronize it's settings, right now I can have broadcast SSID pool to true in C2 and disabled in Pineapple GUI.
  8. I lost the cable that came with the pineapple and am looking for a replacement. All the cables I've seen on amazon don't seem to match the one that came with the pineapple. I think I'm looking for a male to a male and female.

  11. Every time I watch tutorials about the Wifi Pineapple, I see that the hosts are able to get more information about clients by selecting them in the recon menu by MAC address. But when I hover over the clients in either of my Wifi Pineapples (both Nano and Tetra) the 'No' symbol appears (circle with the diagonal line through it) and does not allow me to select the item. Is this a common issue and is there a fix for this I have factory reset both devices twice already and I am still getting this issue. For further clarification this is the information that is in the help menu for the Wifi Pineapple: Clicking the menu button next to an MAC address shows a menu providing buttons to add or remove the MAC from the PineAP Filter or PineAP Tracking feature. Opening this menu will automatically look up the MAC address in the OUI database if it has been downloaded. In order to download the OUI database, either the WiFi Pineapple or the web browser itself must have internet access. Deauth uses the multiplier to send multiple deauthentication frames to the target Client. A multiplier of 2 is twice as many deauthentication frames as a multiplier of 1. The menu button is disabled when a scan is active (ie. not stopped or paused). Clicking the menu button next to an SSID shows a menu providing buttons to add or remove the SSID from the PineAP Pool or PineAP Filter. Deauth Clients will send deauthentication frames to all associated clients currently recognized by Recon using the multiplier. A multiplier of 2 is twice as many deauthentication frames as a multiplier of 1. etc............... Further information that may or may not be relevant: OS: Windows 10 Version 1803 OS Build 17134.706 and Kali Linux v3.30.2 Browser: Google Chrome Version 74.0.3729.108 (Official Build) (64-bit) and Firefox
  12. I just think is there any way to track wifi pineapple if someone is using it nearby ?
  13. Good afternoon, I am working on a project to see if it is possible to record the mac addresses that appear in the recon mode or devices that connect to the wifi pineapple network. Is this possible? if so please let me to the right direction to perform this solution. Thanks,
  14. My WiFi pineapple won't connect to the internet when set up the way it's detailed in the windows 10 setup video. I've already looked at these threads: https://forums.hak5.org/topic/37142-questions-about-wp6sh/ https://forums.hak5.org/topic/37387-nano-refusing-to-connect-to-internet/ and downloaded wp6.sh, but when I try to execute it, it says permission denied. It originally downloaded to /root/, but when it wouldn't work I moved it to /bin/ and it still wouldn't work. In addition, when I try to get modules or bulletins on the pineapple it doesn't work. The only way I can get it to connect is by using client mode, which interferes with PineAP since it only lets me use wlan1. How can I get the USB ethernet function working?
  15. Hi All, Just a quick question regarding the WiFi pineapple NANO, I was going to test client mode on the pineapple but when inserting the usb WiFi adapter that comes with the pineapple it turns out it doesn’t work, it’s not to much of an issue I used another WiFi adapter whiched worked, are there drivers I need to install to get the WiFi adapter that Hak5 supplied working with the pineapple.
  16. https://www.picz.in.th/image/fFGI3Q https://www.picz.in.th/image/fFGMbS Sorry,How to solve? I try configure ip static IP 172.16.42.42 mask 255.255.255.0 gateway 172.16.42. dns 172.16.42.1 it doesn’t work Please help me !!!!!!!!
  17. What is the difference between NANO BASIC and NANO TACTICAL ? need information so I know what the difference is and why the price is different and What is the farthest distance from which networks are picked up? :(
  18. Is there a list of all modules and their functions of the Pineapple (Tetra if it matters) wich i bought recently. Im new to hak 5 Products and all that hacking stuff but I want to learn and ya gotta start somewhere (so why not with a >200$ device).
  19. Does the modules get updated regularly? Like Sslsplit and others? because github has outofdate software such as sslstrip..
  20. The Pineapple Stand Project This is a project I would like help on if I'm being honest more like a need help on. Please excuse any grammatical or spelling errors. Grammar and spelling are not my best area and I am only 14. A bit of background: I got the WIFI adapter sold from the hak5 shop and it works great for a person or two, but I needed something faster. So, I started watching some hak5 videos and saw WIFI adapters were amazing. The hak5 videos that got me thinking if you could do that with a wifi adapter not built for hacking what could you do with one that was. I began to have the seedlings of an idea to use the pineapple for this purpose. Then I saw the wifi cactus (for those of you that don't know what it is here are a few links https://blog.adafruit.com/2017/08/02/wificactus-when-you-need-to-know-about-hackers-wearablewednesday/ and https://youtu.be/fX_XH-09YeQ) and the idea crystalized to use a pineapple as a wifi adapter that you could control with the web interface. Sounds crazy right until you consider that basically what the wifi pineapple is already (I mean no offense hak5 I know that that is an oversimplification seriously love you guys) the wifi part is obvious but the adapter is not so obvious the adapter is the web interface more specifically when the web interface sends something to the pineapple then the pineapple changes that into something that it can recognize then sends it to the controller inside of the pineapple which is the traditional adapter being controlled by the web interface and the pineapple is sending information to the web interface is the second part of the wifi adapter. Then I remembered how this idea started which is how the idea of hoking pineapples together and controlling one pineapple with another and having them be able to exchange data (also in part due to the wifi cactus). This is what I want. Basically, for the Tetra I want to hook two of them up together through the eth0 port to the eth0 port but have one of them to give internet connection to the other. More than that, however, I want to be able to control the one wifi pineapple with the other making it into a wifi adapter and have both of them working together. Now before you click off because you don't have 2 wifi pineapple tetra this should work whether it be the tetra with a nano plugged into it, a nano plugged into a nano or a tetra to a tetra. (with some minor deviations). Now that that's all out of the way let's get to how you could do this. For simplicity, I will be referring to the pineapple that that controls the other pineapple as the host and the other pineapple as the tether. Idea 1: My first idea was to use client mode on one pineapple to connect to the management SSID on the other pineapple. This would, in theory, allow me to control both pineapples while I was connected to one wifi network. The first problem with this was that you have to browse to the same web address to control both pineapples because of the addresses being the same and that the request would have to go to the first pineapple to get to the second the request wouldn't make it. The solution was to change the web address you need to browse to for the second pineapple. Pretty simple. This still did not achieve the end result I was hoping for. For one I could not use PineAP and get a real wifi connection. I considered this a start it showed that is was possible to control 2 wifi pineapples with one internet connection. Breaking down my first idea and why it was only a partial success. My first idea was only a partial success because I could not use PineAP and get a real wifi connection the reason I could not use PineAp and get a real internet connection was that one wan1 being used for client mode to connect to the management SSID of the other pineapple and in order for me to get a real internet connection without using the eth ports I would need the wan1 of the other pineapple leaving no wan1 open for PineAP. Using the one wan1 is unavoidable because you need it for client mode the tether has to do this if you want real internet. But in order to fix the problem, we need to find a way to eliminate the need for the other wan1 that is being used to connect to the management SSID. The potential solution I came up with is to is to connect the 2 pineapples tetras eth0 to eth0 port. This would, in theory, remove the need for the other wan1. The problem is the pineapples eth0 ports are configured to be inputs and I need one to be an output (the tether) and the other to be an input (the host) in order for this to work. So if one of you that is better at coding then I am can figure out a solution to this problem please share it with me. Or if this is not possible please share that with me. If there is another way to do this, please share that with me. Assuming that there is a solution to that problem. I would like to develop a module for this actually 2 modules one for the host and one for the tether and Host would appreciate if anyone wanted to help develop the modules, in other words, have to code the modules while I fail at helping you code (I am a little past hello world in java but can copy and past with the best of them :) and tell you what I think it should do. Please contact me alexriniker5510@gmail.com if you have any ideas, suggestions, want to help, want to crush my dreams and tell me it's not possible, or ideally want to do this entire project for me ; ). PS. the bootup loop in my case was caused by a short in the pineapple that meant that it was not getting enough power, so it could get through the first part of the bootup but when it came to turning on the wifi which sucked away the little power it was running on, to begin with making it shut down then attempt to boot up again. I was able to figure this out by pumping more and more electricity into it until I was able to see the short I would not recommend this for attempting to find the short however because I was lucky, and it was a fairly large short but there's a fine line between enough electricity to see the short and enough to permanently damage the circuits in the pineapple. I felt obligated to you guy to find the causes of the bootup loop after you sent me another wifi pineapple. sincerely, Alex
  21. Hello everyone, My name is Squidy P and it has been six months since my last....wrong forum? To soon? Anyway, this is my first post and I am new to true hacking and pentesting. I have been messing with Linux for years and really enjoy the OS and getting under the hood. After watching some the HakTips I realize that I don't know that much about wifi or radios in general. I am looking to get a USB wifi adapter for testing and getting my feet wet. I don't think I should start with the Pineapple, although I am salivating wanting to get my hands on it. I think if I got a Pineapple I would be like a teenager who found himself is a strip club for the first time...just wouldn't know where to start. I want to start small but with capability. Goal is to hack my own WPA2 password and I am pretty sure my Surface 3 (non-pro)'s wifi won't do monitor mode. Any suggestions on a good radio to start with?
  22. The Pineapple has many features that make it a multi-layer tool in the steps of pentesting. It can do everything from passive sniffing to dns spoofing. Where should this fit into my workflow? And where has it fit into yours? Thank You! -Michael
  23. I received a wifi pineapple nano as a Christmas gift and have yet to get any use out of it. I continually have issues restoring the firmware, IP address drops, can't access internet on host, etc. So... I finally got the firmware to load, 2.0.2, and can access the web panel on 172.16.42.1. However I cannot load modules or wifi bullets, nor access the internet from my computer. I did install wp6,sh appropriately. Here is my setup: Mac OS X running VMWare Fusion I have internet on my Mac, but not on Kali or pineapple. 24. Hey. I got this WiFi Pineapple-NANO for christmas and I'm trying to get it set up correctly..I plugged it in, followed the instructions and started to update the firmware, the blue light didn't start blinking at all as I pressed upgrade, so I decided to unplug it and try again. Now when i plug it into my computer it blinks once, turns solid blue for about 3-4 seconds and then the light goes out. I have tried to follow the instructions on https://www.wifipineapple.com/pages/faq for firmware reset without luck. But I do realize I might be doing something wrong, as I simply go to my routers control panel as I browse to 192.168.1.1 I do have 'Bus 001 Device 018: ID 0b95:772a ASIX Electronics Corp. AX88772A Fast Ethernet' under lsusb so I know its recognized, but as far as I can tell it only recognizes it if I'm NOT holding down the reset buttom as i plug it in. Can anyone please tell me where I go from here?
  25. Hi guys, Anyone know how I can get shell access in using any modern browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox, etc. so that the browser doesn't bitch at me and say I need to upgrade to latest browser version) by browsing to a URL? I tried putting a malicious iframe on my evil portal and using these exploits: auxiliary/server/browser_autopwn, auxiliary/server/browser_autopwn2. I even tried downgrading to IE 8 then using the exploit: exploit/windows/browser/ms10_002_aurora. But so far I got nothing. :( No meterpreter sessions. This is for a presentation, by the way. Any of you guys suggest a different way? I am desperate. Wait not really. Just really frustrated. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance!
