  1. Hello. I have recently won the Wifi Pineapple Nano Basic in a CTF Competition. So, I was wondering, do any of you have any general advice, or anything to say to me? All I know so far about it is: https://www.wifipineapple.com/pages/nano Thanks so much.
  2. Hi guys, When I share internet from Pineapple, clients are able join to my PineAP, but cannot get access to the internet. There is an error message "error connection refused" in browser. When I connect to PineAP with my Android phone, i can search anything from Google on Chrome browser, but when i go to actual website, it shows me that cannot connect to the Internet (error connection refused). Other browsers and apps also cannot connect to the Internet. Could someone help me to solve this

  4. Sup guys. I receive Nano just yesterday ans i will make reference about the device and try to explain why i strong NOT recommend to buy it... Before i had my own WiFi rig for pentesting: Raspberry Pi, 2 WiFi adapters, PowerBank. It works good and cost less than $50. But i order Pineapple Nano... What can i say? Hak5 representing the device as 'Out of the box' and 'most advanced' kit for wifi pentesting, but most useful functions not working 'out of the box'. For example, sslsplit and ettercap not working. I already fix ettercap mannualy (absolutely nothing about it on official resources, do it myself), but still have problem with splitssl. Try to use stripssl from one guy, who post it here - it not working again. I spend time, reinstall some packages manually and fix it. But no web-interfacee at least again... EvilPortal not working 'out of the box' too... Guys, it's rly strong problem for fix dependencies in repository? Work for 5 minutes... U make update and lost most useful tools... About hardware, integrated USB so bad idea... Why not microUSB or USB-C + 5" cable?
  5. I recently bought the wifi pineapple nano and have been experiencing a ton of problems trying to set it up through windows. When I first set it up everything was fine and as normal but when trying to connect my phone as a client, nothing would work even though the pineapple was pulling up the bulletins. After a while of trying a few different things the nano wouldn't even connect to the internet anymore. I have since tried to reset it with the button on the bottom and now when browsing to its IP, I can't even set it up anymore through the web browser. Does anyone have any ideas for me I'm getting extremely frustrated.
  6. I have read the setup instructions. I watchd the online linux tutorial. No luck with pineapple. I then tried manually getting it set up, as my computer didnt see it at all to get into dashboard. So, i set eth1 as 172 address range /24 I then set 10 net /24 for eth0 because it is (this is my direct wired conx I also set 10 net /24 for wlan0 as this connects to router via wifi. All of this DID get me in. I tried multiple combos of above and no improvements. I did go to wp6 and all it really did on my machine is take add off eth1. Leaving no eth/wlan pointing to 172 net. Still, I conected though. I have spent 2+ days trying to fix on my own. I have to be missing something. I try to figure things out myself first; but this one has be sunk.. Help if you can. Glad to post any other info needed.
  7. I wanted to start playing with bashbunny through my Pineapple Tetra. I guess it should be similar for nano but so far didn’t test. Thought I would share my findings in case anyone else was interested. First and simplest of all you can install screen via opkg on your pineapple and connect to a bashbunny in arming mode: - opkg update && opkg install screen screen 115200 /dev/ttyACM0 For a while I tried getting the bashbunny storage to mount but after a bit of poking about I think the kernel needs FAT support as per this bug report before that can happen. Then Lastly I wanted to get network access to the bashbunny and ideally share the tetras internet connection to the bashbunny. WARNING - It might not be 100% correct but this is what I did. Use ECM_ETHERNET as attack method and edit the following files in the pineapples /etc/config: - Edit /etc/config/network to include the below config interface 'usb2' option ifname 'eth2' option proto 'static' option ipaddr '172.16.64.64' option netmask '255.255.255.0' option gateway '172.16.42.42' option dns '8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4' and Edit /etc/config/firewall to include the below. config zone option name eth2 list network 'eth2' option input ACCEPT option output ACCEPT option forward ACCEPT option masq 1 option mtu_fix 1 config forwarding option src lan option dest eth2 config forwarding option src eth2 option dest lan After a reboot I connected the bashbunny to the pineapple and from the pineapples terminal was able to ssh into the bashbunny at 172.16.64.1, Final test was being able to ping out and apt-get update successfully. Also and maybe more interestingly to some, I was able to run nmap against pineapple clients as I hoped opening up some further "fun" in the future. Hope this helps someone. Cheers all
  8. Just some pics for fun. Its beginning to look more like a black scorpion :) They currently operate individually but together. Pineapple grabs the clients optionally with evil portal etc, bashbunny can run metasploit etc against those clients and the packet squirrel is my gateway to wwan (I normally use a mr3020). I was trying to get FAT support on the squirrel too so it could maybe dump the session to the sd card storage of the modem. When you think it's controlled via a few terminal screens on a phone and it can fit in a bag its reasonably stealthy. Not NANO stealthy but still. I normally run this with 12V 2A battery but for the pics I used the USB battery.
  9. Reaver 1.6 As you may or may not know Reaver have gone approx. two years without updates. It recently got a big update v1.6 I haven't heard or seen anything about the newest version being compiled for our devices, so i took matters into my own hands and managed to compile it properly. I thought it'd be smart to make a thread about it, where people can post any bugs/issues that they're experiencing, and i'll see if i can get it fixed. But also to let people know that there exist a new and improved version now. My GitHub repo. contains the Makefile needed to compile it with OpenWRT-SDK, and it also contains the IPK-file needed to install it to your device. Repo: https://github.com/adde88/reaver-1.6.1-openwrt IPK-file: https://github.com/adde88/reaver-1.6.1-openwrt/raw/master/bin/ar71xx/packages/base/reaver_1.6.1-1_ar71xx.ipk Installation instructions: The first window shows an installation to the local-storage, and the second window installs to the SD-card. Open a SSH terminal to your Pineapple, and follow the commands as outlined below: #1: root@Pineapple:~# cd /tmp root@Pineapple:~# wget https://github.com/adde88/reaver-1.6.1-openwrt/raw/master/bin/ar71xx/packages/base/reaver_1.6.1-1_ar71xx.ipk root@Pineapple:~# opkg update root@Pineapple:~# opkg install reaver_1.6.1-1_ar71xx.ipk --force-downgrade #2: root@Pineapple:~# cd /tmp root@Pineapple:~# wget https://github.com/adde88/reaver-1.6.1-openwrt/raw/master/bin/ar71xx/packages/base/reaver_1.6.1-1_ar71xx.ipk root@Pineapple:~# opkg update root@Pineapple:~# opkg install reaver_1.6.1-1_ar71xx.ipk --dest sd --force-downgrade If you get an error about checksum not matching, you can add the following string (without quotes) to the last command: "--force-checksum" I also HIGHLY suggest that you install the newest updated version of libpcap, which fixes alot of issues with Reaver. Sadly, it's not found on Hak5's repositories at the time i'm writing this. To get libpcap updated i suggest you follow the instuctions outlined in this thread: https://forums.hak5.org/topic/38183-official-wps/?page=3
  10. So I have my wifi pineapple set up and everything, I need to install wp6.sh for wifi sharing. So I do the command wget wifipineapple.com/wp6.sh. It installs I do the chmod +x wp6.sh, then I ran the application ./wp6.sh. It comes up with a menu for many options. I do guided install then it tells me y/n for 3 things I do y for all of them. Then I hit c to continue with current settings. It says travel to the website for wifi pineapple. But up above it says this SIOCDELRT: no such process and right below it says, eth0: Unknown host I am running on kali linux. thx, Cameron ps, the bulletins don't load.
  11. Hi, I was looking at the pineapples and found the Nano and Tetra very interesting but on the Hak5 store description, they don't really compare the too together. I'd like to know especially if the size of the Tetra is worth it if it has a lot of extra range and power. I've also heard the Tetra needs a lot of batteries while the Nano doesn't. So what's worth to get between these 2 models in terms of range, power and stealth? Thanks
  12. On our devices it is possible to run Python code, but even a simple "Hello World" Python script can take up 6-8 seconds to run, at worst! Investigations seems to show that all Python modules are kept in .py source code, and is compiled in memory on each run. (To save space i guess) Due to having alot of modules and that we're using small embedded devices, this causes delays in even the simplest of Python-related code! Example: Alot of the python scripts on my Mana Toolkit is slow, and causes the CPU-usage to sky-rocket. So what can we do do 'fix' this? Open a SSH terminal to your Pineapple and issue this command: python -m compileall This causes python to pre-compile all your python modules to .pyc-files. Which is located at: /usr/lib/python2.77 This fix is relative straight-forward on the TETRA. On the NANO we're better of moving that directory to the SD-card and issue a sym-link from that directory to: /usr/lib/python2.7 before we run the commmand. (Saves internal storage) For example like this: mv /usr/lib/python2.7 /sd/usr/lib/python2.7 ln -s /sd/usr/lib/python2.7 /usr/lib/python2.7 python -m compileall You can also pre-compile the python files within the directory you're inside by using the same command, but adding a dot at the end, like this: python -m compileall . This was a huge improvement for me. Hope it can be of usage for you guys :)
  13. Hi guys, Anyone know how I can get shell access in using any modern browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox, etc. so that the browser doesn't bitch at me and say I need to upgrade to latest browser version) by browsing to a URL? I tried putting a malicious iframe on my evil portal and using these exploits: auxiliary/server/browser_autopwn, auxiliary/server/browser_autopwn2. I even tried downgrading to IE 8 then using the exploit: exploit/windows/browser/ms10_002_aurora. But so far I got nothing. :( No meterpreter sessions. This is for a presentation, by the way. Any of you guys suggest a different way? I am desperate. Wait not really. Just really frustrated. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance!

  15. Upon initial setup for Nano I am met with "The selected upgrade file failed verification. Please check the file and try again.". This error persists regardless of the version of firmware I attempt to update to. I have tried 2 different laptops, having the Nano directly plugged into the USB port and with the USB Y connector, and both Chrome and Firefox. Any ideas?
  16. Hi, I have a project which needs internet-access and the only avaible connection with enough bandwidth is a open hotspot that is within range. The problem is: it disconnects after 200MB/day for each MAC-adress and you have to press a button on their captive-portal before you can connect to anything else. Did anyone got a solution for this already? Some Auto-MAC-changer + autoclicker/-postscript? Connections would come over either Ethernet or Wifi. Additional Wifi-adapters are avaible, too if needed.
  17. This is a Dumb noobie Question. Do I need internet connection for the pineapple to work?
  18. Just bought a Tetra a few weeks ago. Every time I shutdown or reboot the Pineapple, it factory resets. Nothing saves, and I have to go through full setup everytime. What can I do to stop this or exchange it?
  19. Don't hate me because I'm a Newbie. Whats worse, I don't really know Linux. I was hoping with the Nano I wouldn't need to SSH in. So scary! My question: Is there a resource that provides tutorials and more details on the many cool plug ins now available? I've seen everything I can find on YouTube but many of them are using a Linux command line shell and I am hoping that I can use the GUI on the Nano. There are so many cool things I know can be done with this unit but without knowing more I feel useless and sad :( Please point this geeky enthusiast to any Nano specific "cookbooks", PDFs or Videos you may know of so I may some day not be a Newbie. Thanks folks! Stevels
  20. Wondering what the specs are for bandwidth of radios in the Pineapple Tetra. Digital power meters use frequencies somewhere around the 2.4ghz WiFi signals. Curious to see what they say and wondering if the Tetra can be used to listen to them (no way would I try to lower my electric bill...trust me, I'm from the government and I'm here to help) I'm sure they would find little humor if they found someone that was altering what the power meter (gas meters too...some places even water meters)...
  21. Is it possible to include a timestamp to associate with aps that show up? One could then start analyzing time of day when certain aps appear and disappear in those that come and go. Or is there something out there that does that already?
  22. N00b question here... Just got my nano and wanted to play around with my own network. But it seems unable to detect any of my network's clients in recon mode. I can see clients on some other networks, but mine comes up blank. Wondering if the pineapple can only detect clients if there are certain conditions. I use a single Google wifi puck for my network's AP. Oddly though, if I profile my network, I can detect client macs. But recon remains ignorant. Thank you
  23. Does anyone know if there is anything simple inside that I could use to tell if WiFi is on or off? I'm looking at situation where I absolutely, positively cannot do any emissions. Was thinking perhaps hooking a small LED indicator. The display LEDs seem to have a mind of their own..
  24. HI all. My first post here. I bought a Wifi Pineapple Nano (tactical edition) yesterday. I have not received it yet, but I've got a question about wifi. Since I did not buy the "Elite" edition, since it has been withdrawn from the site, there is no Ralink wifi usb module with the device. This means you have to tether the Pineapple to my phone via Usb or Wifi. But wouldnt it be perfectly possible for the pineapple to connect to a mobile broadband hotspot instead of using my cellular data on my phone? Its a TP-link Mifi device and since I have a simcard with a dataplan of 100Gb pr. month, it would be a perfect match. But is it possible? Thanks in advance - CC
  25. Hello everyone, I am a little bit new to the WiFi Pineapple Tetra device and specially to the Hak5 Community :D but I am pretty interested in it and I want to get one. However I have some problems. First of all I live in Lebanon hakshop doesn't ship this to my country, second of all hakshop only supports PayPal which also isn't supported in Lebanon. So in this case I started thinking of borderlinx (www.borderlinx.com) and this company provides the user a US address that I can ship the products to and later on ship to Lebanon and they also have a concierge service that can buy the product using PayPal. This sounds like good and bad because well first of all this would definitely increase the overall price that I am going to pay, first to pay the shipment price for borderlinx to US address then the shipment price to Lebanon along with the custom fees and taxes and also pay the concierge fee (5% of the product price), well I don't care I'll pay whatever amount but I also checked on the hakshop website on the terms/policies page that they prohibit freight forwarding services? Does that mean that I can't user borderlinx? And in that case how in the world would I get my hands on this amazing product? On the other hand, I wanna ask about the compatible and supported mobile hotspots. My Telco provider has the "Huawei 4G E5786Bs" Mobile Hotspot, but does it support USB Tethering? Is it compatible with Pineapple Tetra which essentially is based on OpenWRT which is Linux? Also I really didn't find much documentation and videos online. Any help would be much appreciated.
