  1. I'm trying to use the wifi pineapple to capture all 5ghz traffic, on channel 44. However when I try to run iwconfig wlan0 channel 44 I get: Error for wireless request "Set Frequency" (8B04) : SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument. Also none of the 5ghz frequencies seem to be listed: root@Pineapple:~# iwlist wlan0 frequency wlan0 11 channels in total; available frequencies : Channel 01 : 2.412 GHz Channel 02 : 2.417 GHz Channel 03 : 2.422 GHz Channel 04 : 2.427 GHz Channel 05 : 2.432 GHz Channel 06 : 2.437 GHz Channel 07 : 2.442 GHz Channel 08 : 2.447 GHz Channel 09 : 2.452 GHz Channel 10 : 2.457 GHz Channel 11 : 2.462 GHz I would appreciate any help on this matter.
  2. Hi, I just received my Wifi pineapple mark v and tried to manually upgrade it from 1.0.0 to latest version 4.1. All went as expected and the lights were flashing indicating a successfull flashing. Now, when I enter username and password the only thing that appear is this : picture attached I tried to flash it to 4.0 and it does same thing. any idea ? Thank you!
  3. Hey, Wondering if there's any sort of ETA on the release of the firmware source code. It'd be fantastic to be able to build tools outside of the normal realm of what's available via OPKG (i.e. bully, etc.), but unfortunately I seem to be at a loss without the source code to run with, since it's using a different kernel and libraries than that of which are normally available with vanilla OpenWRT. Thanks ;)

  5. I just received my pineapple and to my disappoint I have had problems right out of the box. When I received the pineapple I followed the instructions exactly as told, I inserted the sd card and waited what was suppose to be 5 minutes turned into 25min. After 25min. the pineapple was stuck with a Green, blue, and red led for about an hour. So I unplugged it and tried again and now it has been stuck on the blue led for a half hour. Any ideas on what I should do? But fireware flash or corrupted image on sd card perhaps?
  6. Hello hak5 forums, I recently bought a wifi pineapple and fell in love with the karma feature. I'm wondering if it's possible to not only force people to connect but also request a password for the network that karma is impersonating. What are your thoughts?
  7. Hey guys, I have been working on a presentation over web security and awareness, and one of the things i was going to do was create a captive portal at the conference venue that people would just log into without clearing that it is safe or not. My issue is for some reason my pineapple refuses to install the dependencies from the web portal. I have tried checking for updates (im on 1.4) I have tried flashing, I have trie just about everything. Can someone possibly give me a hint as to what I could try? I'm running on windows, with winSCP and PuTTY. I would love some advice.
  8. Hi guys! I'm using my pineapple for sharing 3G connection to my wifi clients - at the moment not even for penetration purposes, just for conventional internet sharing. I want to extend the wifi range to cover a bigger area at my summerhouse. My pineapple is connected to 3G (via Huawei E3131 dongle) and it works fine. The only problem is the wifi coverage indoor/outdoor. I would like to connect another, more powerful wifi AP to pineapple, via LAN cable. It would allow me to connect additional LAN clients and to extend my network (LAN/WIFI) as far as needed. Is it possible to share my pineapple 3G connection this way? I'm complete noob in linux world, but i know how to copy/paste and google. So if anyone could point me to right direction or doom the whole idea, then i could try other ways. I guess there is always the possibility to use another wifi AP in repeater mode, to extend pineapple signal this way? Thanks!

  10. I just recently purchased the Mark V. I'm particularly interested in pluging in the Ethernet port into a network port, have the 2.4Ghz wireless broadcasting free-radius and use my Verizon Jetpack "MiFi4620LE Jetpack A7F5" to be able to remote into the device from the Internet My question: 1) Is the Verizon Jetpack "MiFi4620LE Jetpack A7F5" compatible with the Mark V? a) if so, via tethering or wifi? (prefer tethering, as it frees up wifi 2.4Ghz and can supply power to MiFi) b) if so, please explain how, as I don't see any instruction on making it work? I have tried both but have had no luck. Additionally, in the Broadband connection where can I find the proper configuration for this if I go the tethering route? 2) only useful if I can get Q1 resolved. where/how can I get free-radius-wpe installed and configured? Thanks and I really look forward to getting this device functioning.
  11. Hello all, I have a little problem with my Pineapple V. My configuration is: I have my laptop (wired connection to the PineApple / Wifi connection to my home wifi with internet). I have configure the shared connection on my lapotop (wifi) and configure all the setiings (ip adress , dns etc..) When i go in the PineApple interface I don't have a problem for see my Public IP address all it's good.I configure the SSID for Karma, enable the second antenne, enable SSLStrip for redirect the hhtps traffic. In my second PC (Win 7) I go to wifi connection , all it's good i see the SSID (karma creation) and i click to connect. If i open an CMD.exe and i type ping 8.8.8.8 it's works and if i type ping google.com it's works... :) Fine but.... If i try to open my browser (IE, Chrome or Mozilla) I have access to internet once of ten.... The connection is really unstable...Why?? I don't have any problem with my wifi connection in my home. Thank you for your help.
  12. Hey everyone. This will be my first post here on Hak5 forums, and first I'd like to say I love all the tech talk. I have an old Alfa AP51 device, and am trying to do something, but it was given to me by a friend who either put Pineapple on it or bought it with Pineapple. I'm having a problem of one logging into the device. When I link to it, and enter 172.168.42.1 it just says "Nothing to see here" I was hoping I could flash it with the default firmware. I have tried looking up all I could but was surprised to know that I couldn't find very much on the topics. Another thing I need to know is, is it possible with the default firmware to wirelessly bridge the AP51 to a NETGEAR router and pull the signal over to it, and then to the computer through bridging the connections from wireless to wired(ethernet)? So basically I need to know how I can go about flashing it (on Windows 8) and if the bridging thing will work. I previously had an Alfa AWUS036H but it broke so basically I'm trying to substitute. Thanks everyone for feedback, and I would like to say I greatly appreciate it. :)
  13. Has anyone set the dip switches to autostart randomroll? If not is there another way randomroll could be started wirelessly via ssh?
  14. Is a way I can connect my GS3 to my pineapple via usb and log into the web UI? If not then can I log into the web UI via wlan1? Thanks.
  15. Hey does anyone have a idea if you could make a WiFi pineapple like device out of a computer running a Linux os
  16. I was looking on reddit and found little tidbit. I wonder if they head about the pineapple and got the same idea that darren and the gang did. http://money.cnn.com/2014/03/20/technology/security/drone-phone/
  17. Hey everybody, I have a question about the pineapple. I am looking into buying one but have a couple of questions about the extent of the tools. So I get that part about the "Yes Man" aspect. But I don't understand how you can set it up with a battery and leave it for a couple of days. Are the tools on board automated? What is the extent of the tools? What information can you actually collect if you are not actively monitoring it on site with Kali or BT running on the network? What about sites with SSL? or HTTPS? Can it do anything to those without having an attacking computer sitting on the network actively doing something? Totally new to the pineapple, and looking to learn more.
  18. I present my new masterpeice, its not a pineaple, not a wifi pineaple either but it does look like a pineaple! Why MK8? well read further… It has 8 radio! 4 SDR, 2 RF Transceiver/Modem and 2 WiFi BG and N… The connectors alone are more expensive than the SDR… Lots of connector and high quality coax. There also a HamItUp upverter hooked to one of the SDR so I can receive MF and HF band. At its core, a Mini ATX running a dual core atom N510 with 4GB of RAM. Behind the Mini-ATX lies 2x 16GB SSD in RAID 1 and its running KALI Linux, yeah man! The plan is to make 4 more of these and put them at the 4 corners of Montreal island (Canada) and one at my place in the center. This will allow triangulation of various signal… I fly Drones a lot and this tool will help me evaluate the RF condition and possible presence of other drone operator in the area as well as tracking real airplane and local authority to avoid potential issue while flying my multirotors. Eventually I want to add Video and Control relay capability to these to extend my range, but I have an other solution for that for now…
  19. Hey guys, I followed the instructions at the bottom of this page https://wifipineapple.com/?flashing for unbricking the pineapple. I downloaded the stager, set the pineapple to a static IP address of 192.168.1.2. Powered it on and navigated to 192.168.1.1 and made it to the MK5 Recovery Page. I selected the stager.bin and uploaded it, then nothing happens, even after 15-20 minutes, my browser just says "Connecting to 192.168.1.1". Could someone offer me some advice or help please?
  20. hey guys i've used my wifi pineapple mkV for the better part of 3 months now. I've had no major problems with it. yesterday i tried to update over the air to 1.1 . it downloaded the file correctly, md5 checksum was in order, so it began updating. my browser kept showing the "updating" screen. after 10 min or so i lost the wifi link to the pineapple. i thought this was normal, so i waited some more. after three hours the wifi still hadent come back up. i powercycled the thing and still no wifi. i connected over ethernet, doesent even seem to have a dhcp-server running (at least i got no ip assigned). i then manually configured my ip to 172.16.42.254 and scanned the network. needless to say there was no response on 172.16.42.1:1471. i tnen tryed to reset the device with the dipswitch code u-d-d-u-u. still no dice. everytime i turn the device on all the leds flash for 1/2 second, then only the green & red one stay lit. any suggestions?
  21. Greetings, I've recently ordered the Mark V and am anxiously awaiting it's delivery! In the meantime, I've been sketching out different ideas; some of which require the pineapple to be exposed to negative digit temperatures over a prolonged duration. While I've searched the hakshop's product page for the pineapple, I've not found anything to indicate a safe temp. This is more a question of curiosity than anything else. As a matter of fact, I'm totally down with just insulating a pelican case with hand warmers if need be or waiting until summer for the technofun. My first notion would be that any electronic device exposed to -30F windchill over 8 hours will not be happy, especially the battery. Any thoughts or further clarification? Thanks ;)
  22. Hi, I'm new and I'm just really experimenting with the whole pineapple thing. I don't really want to use a 3g/4g dongle and would prefer to shutoff the router function of of the wired lan port. I've replaced the firmware of an old router with ddwrt and setup a vpn. Currently this router is setup to access the guest network of my wireless router and maybe in the future I'll set it up to access any free access point that it finds in the wild. I want full access to both radios to experiment with more complex attacks, hence all this work. I just really want to take an ethernet cable from the pineapple and plug it into my router. So in a nutshell I just want the pineapple to shutup and take the whatever ip address the router gives it. I'm sure the commands to do this are pretty simple but I'm not that familiar with how this thing works.
  23. My Pineapple Mk5 has been working flawlessly since I got it a week or so ago, until today. I have used my pineapple tethered to my android phone before without any problems. I was using it like this again today for about 15 minutes or maybe longer without a hitch when suddenly I lost connection to my phone. I checked my phone and it showed no device was connected. Shortly after this I unplugged my android phone and it gave me a message that stated, "Charging paused, voltage too high." It continued to do this without being plugged in until I left the battery out for 10+ minutes. I tried tethering to another phone and it said no device was connected. I have tried tethering several times since then and no phone will show a connected device. I have rebooted, reset, and reflashed the pineapple without any change. Also, I always get that strange charging message after unplugging my phone from the pineapple (with 2 different batteries even). Everything else seems to be working, just the USB port is giving me problems. Has anyone else seen anything like this? I suspect something failed mechanically, but If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to read them. Thanks!
  24. What happened the Github Repo @ https://github.com/WiFiPineapple/web-interface for the pineapple interface? i was about to fork it and make some optimizations to the code that i thought would help, but the repo is gone...
  25. I recently received my Wifi Pineapple, and I have a few questions about it. 1. Do I need to use a phone and have it tethered for people to connect to the Pineapple? 2. Do I always need an enthernet cable to access the Web Interface? 3. What is wlan0 and wlan1 and should i have at least one enabled? 4. Do I need any special files/programs to phish besides putty and winscp? Sorry, I am new to this field of technology. I mostly program things with javascript.
