  1. I just tried many of your products all used as mentioned in all your video’s and forums. Not one of all the products I bought from hak5 is working properly. it is doing nothing at all. Me on the other hand am busy all day with factory resetting and new configuration. i mean all of them. Really im a totally not satisfied customer and I wonder if you are able to get any of your products to work as you show us. i wonder if there is a totally satisfied customer at all. All the explanations in your video’s and books, just do not make the cut. your a not clear in the books. Explain it to us if we a kids of 7 year old and don’t leave information behind. Ever seen your own forums. There are so many questions the same. I think you have to get your act together. Besides that is your service getting real bad
  2. I have read the setup instructions. I watchd the online linux tutorial. No luck with pineapple. I then tried manually getting it set up, as my computer didnt see it at all to get into dashboard. So, i set eth1 as 172 address range /24 I then set 10 net /24 for eth0 because it is (this is my direct wired conx I also set 10 net /24 for wlan0 as this connects to router via wifi. All of this DID get me in. I tried multiple combos of above and no improvements. I did go to wp6 and all it really did on my machine is take add off eth1. Leaving no eth/wlan pointing to 172 net. Still, I conected though. I have spent 2+ days trying to fix on my own. I have to be missing something. I try to figure things out myself first; but this one has be sunk.. Help if you can. Glad to post any other info needed.
  3. Wifite2 WiFi Pineapple Setup Simple setup to use Wifite2 on your WiFi Pineapple. Credits to the contributors of Wifite2. Requirements: 1. Mounted flashdrive on the WiFi Pineapple. (We won't be using an sdcard due to a kernel bug, still present on the latest version 2.0.2, pointed out by Zylla, https://www.wifipineapple.com/bugs/511) 2. 4. It wasn't the primary reason for me getting a Nano Pineapple, but as I do a lot of travelling I thought would be good to use the Nano to share the internet connection in the hotel and also be able to use my ChromeCast. After spending a good few hours trying to configure this at home I kept getting intermittent results, and got very frustrated for something I thought was straight forward! 1) Set and confirmed filters for client and SSID 2) Connected to existing home router on Nano showed connected, but sometimes didn't update the Default Gateway on the Nano. Very intermitant internet connectivity on the Nano, I tried to load bulletin/updates and it rarely worked. Eventhough other devices connected directly to the home router are fine. 3) Even when I did manage to have the Nano connected to the home router clients connected to the Nanao could not get internet. Can anybody help me at all please. And just to confirm, do I need to use PineAP for this solution to work? Thanks
  5. Hey All, Few things here - 1.I see constant issues installing modules to SD card, IMHO path doesn't propagate properly during install. Any manual ssh fix for that? 2.Would be nice to be able and save config along with ALL modules and their settings in case firmware rollback or factory default is needed really bad. 3.Appears to me that modules like dwall and other goodies report only when Module splash screen is open and data streams live. If there an option to at least smtpout results report? 4.Anybody else tried Nano via tunneled router since sharing pc's lan traffic exposes your IP even if main connection is tunneled? 5.Talking about logging and sending reports - with the latest firmware reports come in not as an attachment but archive code in plain message. Weird but workable. >CUT begin 644 WiFi_Pineapple_Report_2018-02-15-14-18.tar.gzM'XL(`/SJA5H"`^V6P6K<,!"&?76>0OAL$LF6I>S<2J&WTE(*/92P
  6. Hi, I am trying to get internet sharing on my NANO with debian linux distribution. I have had it working before on other distro's but when I run the config script wp6.sh I can run through the guided setup no problem detecting my wireless internet connection and the pineapple, but when i try to connect it says Detecting WiFi Pineapple...execvp: No such file or directory .execvp: No such file or directory .execvp: No such file or directory .execvp: No such file or directory .execvp: No such file or directory then just repeats on like above until i quit. Any ideas?
  7. Just wanted to show an Infrared picture of the Wifi Pineapple Nano under load. This picture was taken running the Pineapple as a bridge to an Access Point. It is running an OpenVPN session using the latest firmware, so the processor is being heavily used. This is 30 minutes after starting the session. It appears from several photos that the hottest point is when using an attached usb wireless card. The USB is always the hottest point. Hope this information is helpful.
  8. Hi all! I did the firmware updates (2.0.2) on my Pineapple nano's. Since then I'm not able to connect any device to the open WiFi connection I deploy as a rogue access point. Does anyone have the same issue? Any solutions? Thanks! Nigtshade
  9. Reaver 1.6 As you may or may not know Reaver have gone approx. two years without updates. It recently got a big update v1.6 I haven't heard or seen anything about the newest version being compiled for our devices, so i took matters into my own hands and managed to compile it properly. I thought it'd be smart to make a thread about it, where people can post any bugs/issues that they're experiencing, and i'll see if i can get it fixed. But also to let people know that there exist a new and improved version now. My GitHub repo. contains the Makefile needed to compile it with OpenWRT-SDK, and it also contains the IPK-file needed to install it to your device. Repo: https://github.com/adde88/reaver-1.6.1-openwrt IPK-file: https://github.com/adde88/reaver-1.6.1-openwrt/raw/master/bin/ar71xx/packages/base/reaver_1.6.1-1_ar71xx.ipk Installation instructions: The first window shows an installation to the local-storage, and the second window installs to the SD-card. Open a SSH terminal to your Pineapple, and follow the commands as outlined below: #1: root@Pineapple:~# cd /tmp root@Pineapple:~# wget https://github.com/adde88/reaver-1.6.1-openwrt/raw/master/bin/ar71xx/packages/base/reaver_1.6.1-1_ar71xx.ipk root@Pineapple:~# opkg update root@Pineapple:~# opkg install reaver_1.6.1-1_ar71xx.ipk --force-downgrade #2: root@Pineapple:~# cd /tmp root@Pineapple:~# wget https://github.com/adde88/reaver-1.6.1-openwrt/raw/master/bin/ar71xx/packages/base/reaver_1.6.1-1_ar71xx.ipk root@Pineapple:~# opkg update root@Pineapple:~# opkg install reaver_1.6.1-1_ar71xx.ipk --dest sd --force-downgrade If you get an error about checksum not matching, you can add the following string (without quotes) to the last command: "--force-checksum" I also HIGHLY suggest that you install the newest updated version of libpcap, which fixes alot of issues with Reaver. Sadly, it's not found on Hak5's repositories at the time i'm writing this. To get libpcap updated i suggest you follow the instuctions outlined in this thread: https://forums.hak5.org/topic/38183-official-wps/?page=3

  11. I received a wifi pineapple nano as a Christmas gift and have yet to get any use out of it. I continually have issues restoring the firmware, IP address drops, can't access internet on host, etc. So... I finally got the firmware to load, 2.0.2, and can access the web panel on However I cannot load modules or wifi bullets, nor access the internet from my computer. I did install wp6,sh appropriately. Here is my setup: Mac OS X running VMWare Fusion I have internet on my Mac, but not on Kali or pineapple. 12. I really loved the last two episodes on creating a VPN. I have a Wifi Pineapple Nano and have setup a VPN server and can manually connect . I used the forwarding 'foo' code in the video to get client forwarding working. Now I wanted to make it so that the openvpn client and the forwarding script works on startup but I cannot seem to get it working. I've done some searching but cannot think of where to go from here. I've put this in /etc/init.d/ #!/bin/sh # Start the openvpn service openvpn client.ovpn #Setup forwarding for clients iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s -o tun0 -j MASQUERADE iptables -A FORWARD -s -o tun0 -j ACCEPT iptables -A FORWARD -d -m state --state ESTABLISHED,RELATED -i tun0 -j ACCEPT And created a symlink to /etc/rc.d/ If I run the commands separately it all works however I cannot get it to run on boot. Should they be run as two different processes? Is it because openvpn is running the second won't trigger. Not sure if it's my lack of understanding of Unix/bash scripting or something else. Thanks for your time guys.
  13. Hi All, I am new to the Tetra, however after reading numerous posts and watching the videos, I cannot get internet access on my tetra when connected to my windows 10 laptop. I have attached screenshots of the set up as per other posts and the IP from the cmd prompt, but I still do not have access. I don't know if this is a windows 10 issue, but after following the instructions to set static ip, it made it an unidentified network. This is where I believe the issue is and once this is able to be resolved my issues will be fixed. My question is, if I connect a LAN cable into the port on the tetra, should it connect via the router or would additional settings be required as the tetra is on 172.x.x.x network whereas my router is giving out 192.x.x.x IPs? I am really stumped as to what to do and I feel its something small that I have missed. I am going to try another laptop tomorrow, however, any gurus out there who could shed some light on this would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Hey guys is there a way to use the tools on the Nano over ssh? When I try to use reaver for example this is the output I get: root@Pineapple:~# opkg install reaver --dest sd Package reaver (1.6.3-1) installed in sd is up to date. root@Pineapple:~# reaver -ash: reaver: not found root@Pineapple:~# I also tried to cd to the sd directory and obtained the same result: root@Pineapple:/sd# opkg install reaver --dest sd Package reaver (1.6.3-1) installed in sd is up to date. root@Pineapple:/sd# reaver -ash: reaver: not found root@Pineapple:/sd# Any help would be greatly appreciated :).
  15. Just like the title says, after changing my time zone 100 times it simply won't save. I don't know if this is a bug or not but its just annoying. Also what is the timezone used for with the nano, obviously to know the current time but why would it need to know that? just curious.
  16. Just a little heads up for anyone who gets stuck, if you connect your nano directly to your laptop and run bettercap inorder to mitm clients connected to the nano via your laptop, when you run bettercap it will detect you home router (or whatever your laptop is connected to) as your gateway ie and you will get error of not being able to get router mac address, In order for this to work properly you have to use to -G flag in bettercap and set your gateway as the pineapple address and then it will enable you to mitm your connected clients browsing the web via your laptop :)
  17. ok so ive setup the nano with wp6 to share connection with kali, this all works spot on, then i connect to the nano with my phone, this is also fine, i fire up wireshark but only see traffic directed from, is this correct, i persumed i would be seeing the given IP from my phone? should the internet connection be coming from the nano or the laptop? what interface should i be sniffing? this is slightly baffling my brain but i know its so simple, to much eggnog i think, I know in a moment this will just click in my brain as i feel im putting way to much thought into such a simple process thanks all
  18. Hi I can get the Nano workng, but as soon as i start VPN. It will not connect to the Internet. I have also tiried starting VPN 1st, then connecting but alas it still does not work. Has anyone else had this problem? Pls help . .. Many Thanks Rgds Willo
  19. I've been using my Nano as a Travel router and tunneling through OpenVPN to my router at home. I've just spun up a IPSEC VPN with Algo on Digital Ocean and wanted to use this instead of OpenVPN. Does anyone know where I can find documentation for setting up the Nano to tunnel through IPSEC VPN?
  20. Hi, I was looking at the pineapples and found the Nano and Tetra very interesting but on the Hak5 store description, they don't really compare the too together. I'd like to know especially if the size of the Tetra is worth it if it has a lot of extra range and power. I've also heard the Tetra needs a lot of batteries while the Nano doesn't. So what's worth to get between these 2 models in terms of range, power and stealth? Thanks
  21. I seem to have misplaced my Y cable.. Ive already dug through the forum and found a link to get a replacement. But the question is, do i really have to use the y cable? If i can find a 5v A2 wall adapter, that should be good enough, right? All of the ones i have are just..bad. Id like to setup my nano running out of the wall for some passive information gathering
  22. On our devices it is possible to run Python code, but even a simple "Hello World" Python script can take up 6-8 seconds to run, at worst! Investigations seems to show that all Python modules are kept in .py source code, and is compiled in memory on each run. (To save space i guess) Due to having alot of modules and that we're using small embedded devices, this causes delays in even the simplest of Python-related code! Example: Alot of the python scripts on my Mana Toolkit is slow, and causes the CPU-usage to sky-rocket. So what can we do do 'fix' this? Open a SSH terminal to your Pineapple and issue this command: python -m compileall This causes python to pre-compile all your python modules to .pyc-files. Which is located at: /usr/lib/python2.77 This fix is relative straight-forward on the TETRA. On the NANO we're better of moving that directory to the SD-card and issue a sym-link from that directory to: /usr/lib/python2.7 before we run the commmand. (Saves internal storage) For example like this: mv /usr/lib/python2.7 /sd/usr/lib/python2.7 ln -s /sd/usr/lib/python2.7 /usr/lib/python2.7 python -m compileall You can also pre-compile the python files within the directory you're inside by using the same command, but adding a dot at the end, like this: python -m compileall . This was a huge improvement for me. Hope it can be of usage for you guys :)
  23. Today I received my nano version of the wifi pineapple. As per instructions shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrHbEZd4t00 I've connected the device to my laptop and eagerly started waiting for the blue led to show up at no avail. The device also came in a skeptical condition with the casing falling apart - see the picture. I've tried connecting it to a total of 2 laptops and a desktop pc with the same results. However, with lsusb the machine finds it under the name Any ideas ideas on what may be wrong?
  24. So this nano boost is nice, but where does the bigger antenna plug into? It has it's own usb type connection with its own mac address. the order was a nano X 1. why does an antenna need a mac address? thanks
  25. Upon initial setup for Nano I am met with "The selected upgrade file failed verification. Please check the file and try again.". This error persists regardless of the version of firmware I attempt to update to. I have tried 2 different laptops, having the Nano directly plugged into the USB port and with the USB Y connector, and both Chrome and Firefox. Any ideas?
