I like my desktop to be icon-less. For file organisation I use Salamander http://www.altap.cz/ - A NC clone.. but the best I have seen this far (and if I come across one, I will test one). I spend a LOT of time organising, sorting and reorganising files.. and if I am not sure where to put a file (images or stuff) I make a hardlink and put them in 2 dirs at the same time. (found a nice tool for that) I was very curious about the new way of organising files that Microsoft promised us with Vista.. and it bummed me that it never made it to the final release.. :?

LoL is it just me or am I the only one looking at the screenshots and trying to figure out some of the exotic icons in the systray and Quick Launch bit? Some great posts.. but since I am rarely looking at my desktop.. I just have a color there instead of wallpaper;)

off topic: From my experience it might work if you put the harddrive in the freezer.. (inside a plastic bag or something) for like a day.. Then connect it.. it sometimes does the trick and you have some time to get your stuff off.. (basically until it warms up again) But only use it as a last resort and from what I've heard.. you can only do this once so better grab the good stuff first.

I played Lineage II <-- way too annoying endgame Everquest II for a while.. but there are just TOO many quests.. Altho I liked it a lot:) MMORPGS are time consuming so I had to stop.. especially with all the die hard players there..
