  1. Being that i read it correctly -- how do you presume to log into an account using an account that is locked out ? at any rate, i know what your objective is and you should look at the following product: www.dameware.com i mentioned using an asynchronous app, i meant synchronous, so this way you can access the actual desktop of the locked user..
  2. Hey Vako, If I'm reading this correctly, probably not, you want to know if there is a way to log into a locked user's account profile as the user, that's presumably locked out ? since you have domain admin on the machine you can use an asynchronous remote control app, kind of like RDP. There are a few ways to remotely enable RDP on boxes on your LAN. This way, it gives you access to the box without the user , who is logged in, having any idea you are connected.

    Web Host

Vako - eventually, that will be the idea. moving to a company like rackspace or just a co-location facility with rock-solid SLA's but this is a starter site that i wish to become a bigger site. If the results govern me moving to a dedicated server, i will. but for now, i'm sure there are affordable, shared web hosts that rock. I'm just trying to get a feel as to what others use or recommend.

    Web Host

Stingwray, your assessment is accurate and i've always taken hate sites with a grain of salt. However, they still do exist and if they continue to get unique stories based on similar issues, then that pattern becomes worrisome. I'm sure there will be issues and i don't plan on hosting a major site, but flexibility with options, reliable uptime, attentive customer support, and reasonable pricing would be nice. I post here because most ppl on this forum know a thing or two about a thing or two that involves the web. as i mentioned above, if more ppl respond with positive remarks on similar hosts, it becomes a discernible pattern which will make it easier to make an informed decision.

Are there any good web hosting companies around ? it seems every host as a site dedicated to how bad they are; etc. Dreamhost, Hostgator, Powweb,GoDaddy... Which web hosts do some of you recommend ?
  6. did you get to hear more information about this or actually see this demonstration ? http://www.enterprise-security-today.com/s...?story_id=45101

would i need two nics on my machine ? how would i setup the switchport configuration. make my, the management station, as the monitor port ? arp poison with cain/abel ?

    Spector CNE

I have a feeling there is some monitoring going on some machines using the above program. I've ran currports and tcpview and don't see anything unrecognizable. In the event the above program doesn't establish a tcp or udp session with a server -- how can i detect if monitoring is going on with spector ?
  12. booooo pm me if you have alternate(s) --- cough suppressants that is
  13. has someone noticed that www.antiwpa7.tk is no more ? it resolves to a whois ? what's the deal ?
  14. technically you can. You're just afraid about the support issue. All you need to worry about is getting on their network. Most ISP's won't nor can't support hardware they don't issue. So in reality, if you're comfortable with the fact that your ISP will "support" a windows 20003 server install as your gateway -- good luck. But in reality, when, and using windows as a gateway you probably will get an issue -- let us know how far your ISP will help you troubleshoot that.
