  1. Love the last part of the show where you have the command line nibbles - It would be nice to have those and the listener/viewer feedback in one sections - I am trying to start my own collection of cool command line tricks.

    Thanks

  2. The last show they were plugging the HackTips - but they haven't been updated since last year. Originally there were two a week, one with Shannon one with Darren. One was basic Windows and Apps the other was Linux, networking and Command line things. They had the best of both world - Evil Empire and Open source. A good mix.

  3. I love the shows! One of the problems is the show notes. It would be nice to have the commands and the url's that are mentioned in the show also in the notes or in some text format.

Sometimes it is really difficult to follow along and try it out yourself (which is what makes it fun for everyone).

I know that some shows or casts do this like railscasts have asciicasts and so on.

Jut my 2 cents. Keep up the great work

  4. Wondering when we can get a hardware list so that we can start the build on the SAN - Very interested in building one as I have a couple clients who desperately need to have one and there are no “how to’s” that I’ve found to get down to the nuts and bolts of building and deploying one. Interested in how much $$ and how to.

  5. I started with C. There have been others along the way (PASCAL, COBOL and other ones that have gone the way of Latin spoken every day).

The main thing is to start with one, it really doesn't have to be anyone in particular. It will help you to start understanding how to think logically and what the structures behind the language are. After that you can learn others.

  6. Not really sure who you are trying to reach and what the content is all about. There are articles that you scraped form other sites but nothing is original. In the words of the old commercial ... "Where's the beef?"

  7. I think it would be a great idea to sell some of the DVDs and if you include some of the code and links with the DVDs it would make it easier. Show notes in txt anyone?

  8. Thanks RPK5000 -

Just thinking out loud and seeing what I could come up with - I'd like to see the code on #2 if you could send it - I have one serve and one workstation that are isolated and just talk to each other so nothing gets out accidentally.  Working on following the logic of the basic program - so anything you can add would be appreciated.

Also nice you are working on the first one too.

  9. Just a thought for the developers (people better with code than I am presently):

    Evil thought #1

When the payload downloads to the email box can the archive bit be changed on the files so that if they are "updated" after they will be resent (those that have been changed) like an incremental backup of the hard drive?

    Evil Thought #2

When another USB device is plugged in after the initial load is there a way to replicate it to that device?

Hope these ideas spur some development - I've enjoyed playing with the things so far.

    Thanks
