  1. Thanks for the reply. I'm going to place my order now :)
  2. Do we know if all AAO come with the Atheros wifi chipset? I'm looking into getting one and don't want to buy one if it doens't come with an atheros chipset.
  3. Yea but I was running back and fourth so when the thought to rejoin the computer hit me I was at the desktop so I just did it there.
  4. Well thanks to you helpful folk I was able to fix the issues. The trust relationship between the computer and the domain crapped out. I'm not sure why it crapped out but I just removed the computer and re added it. Thanks for all the help fellas.
  5. Yea server 2008 looks much nicer while at the same time keeping everything looking familiar enough.
  6. Forgot to mention that I'm using server 2008.
  7. Hmm, thanks. I wonder if that means the trust relationship between the computer and the domain had gone sour somehow. Thanks again.
  8. Hey guys just had a quick question. I was trying to figure out why this computer on our network wasn't allowing anyone to log in. So I decided to check AD and I found this: I don't know what that little arrow pointed down means. Anyone have a clue? I haven't seen that before. When I log in as the local administrator I'm able to get onto the internet and such so I know that the Ethernet cable/nic card are working fine. I tried to Google it but for some reason it's a lot harder to search for a arrow icon on top of an Icon in AD. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  9. What bothers me is that most people I talk to who I consider to be "average" users still don't know what the hell Linux is, and most of them are mac users. The article made some fare points but saying that every time we log onto our Linux desktops we should thank apple...please.
  10. http://news.cnet.com/8301-13505_3-10259059...g=2547-1_3-0-20 Does the last line in this article make anyone else slightly mad?
  11. The most recent thing that happened to me was this: Office guy - "Hey you, IT guy what did you do to my computer?!" Me - "What do you mean? I don't even know who you are." Office guy - "I know toy IT people did something to my computer. I can't seem to type and numbers, and I was able to yesterday. What did you do?!" Me - "I didn't do anything but I would be happy to take a look if you want" Dude shows me over to his computer and puts his cursor in a text box and starts hitting numbers on his keypad and nothing is happening. Me - "Really? Are you for real?" Office guy - "Yeah I'm for real, fix this!" Me - *presses Numlock* "Your welcome"
  12. Season 1 was the greatest. I can't remember exactly which season it happened in but I remember when Harrison was showing Metasploit, It freaking blew my mind.
  13. I'd love to hear them. I have a lot of stories about how lame some of these users are.
  14. I love the new stuff, the Linux stuff in particular is awesome. The VM segments are great and I'm learning a ton. Thanks for the great content guys!
  15. So today someone in my office came running to me at around 9am telling me that their laptop was taken over by hackers and all her stuff was going to be lost. So I decided to be nice and told her I'd take a look and this is what I found It kinda made me laugh a little bit. But it seemed like this thing was all f'd up. I just booted onto a live cd and mounted her drive and saved her pictures and stuff. Anyone else have interesting desktop support stories they want to share?
  16. Awesome, i'm going to give this a download when I get home tonight. Thanks for the heads up.
  17. That's pretty awesome. I didn't know that he also started Blackhat, it's good that the government has someone like him to help with security.
  18. Well I just loaded SP2 on my vista machine at work and besides the long install and configure period it seems fine. I haven't really had any issues with it other than the general Vista suck problems. Seems like they did a lot of behind the scenes kinda stuff.
  19. Hopefully if I can get the time off work i'll go. I went to defcon like two years ago and it was an awesome experience. If it's still the same as when I went it's $100 at the door to get your badge.
  20. Looks pretty awesome, I'm going to give it ago on my netbook tonight. Thanks for the heads up.
  21. That was a freaking good read. I Used vista for a while when It was released and I wasn't impressed at all. I have since moved all my laptops and home desktops over to linux. I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 and i'm loving it. I've been using Ubuntu since Dapper and I think it just keeps getting better and better with every new release. The only time i'm forced to use a windows machine is at work when i'm working with the users in my company. Other than that I made my company buy me a Ubuntu Dell, just to say that I have one. Ubuntu all the way, Compiz-Fusion, AWN manager. Best combo imo.
  22. Lol, I was just going to say that there are endless threads on this topic. Just listen to music you usually enjoy. I myself listen to alot of Metal when I program. Although I find that it's not usually the music that helps me code, but it's more of the massive amounts of coffee that I consume while coding that helps. :-P
  23. VB was my first programming language I learned, now i'm working with C# and it's really powerfull. I also know C++ . I don't know if people consider SQL a real programming language but I do and I really enjoy SQL. I finally understand JOINS w00t!
