  1. Looks nice, what kinda hardware you got in that bad boy? I will update pics soon with case. Im runnning 2x nVidia 8600GTS xpertVision 256mb DDR3 Graphics Cards in SLi 1000 gig (4x Maxtor) SATA 2 HDD's Corsair XMS2 2gig Ram DDR2 800mhz Pentium D 940 3.2ghz 4mb L2Cache 800fsb Foxconn NF4SLi Motherboard Running Windows Vista Going to OC? Ive OverClocked it now:P The CPU is running at a steady 3.9ghz *Mad cooler i got keeps it nice and cool:P*, Voltage went up to 1.5volts (not 1.3) and it runs at about 50 - 60*c The Graphics cards are running at 800mhz GPU and 1100mhz DDR3 Ram The memory has been overclocked to 960mhz. i didnt go thurther than that cos the ram got very very hot and i dont want to overheat it. Not bad, even though 60C can seem like alot, its reasonably cool, I know people who have theres idling at 70-80+. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh162/vote4bush/temp.jpg
  2. Heres my new desktop. It hasnt crashed for a while :S. lol. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh162/vote4bush/desktop.jpg[/img] Heres my specs:P http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh162/vote4bush/screenie.png[/img]
  3. Right. This Question has been asked a lot of times around the internet, and there are literally thousands of people raging about it. It's been happening to nearly every owner of Windows Vista and a Nvidia SLI Gpu. Apparently it doesnt matter if the graphics card is running in SLI mode or not, it just happens anyway. It started as soon as Vista came out, and the nVidia Vista Drivers. nVidia 6800gt's were crashing for no apparent reason. Now about a year later, its still happening to everyone, and its happening to me. Since it started nVidia has released a tonne of driver updates, none of which fixes the problem. Ive read that even the people over at ATi forums are witnessing the same types of crashes. People are emplying to switch back to XP, but for some strange reason, it no longer works. It's as if what ever casues the issue damages the graphics cards or somthing.:S Personally i don't know. I have been searching the internet since i got this damn problem (Day one of getting the new computer) and still i havn't found a fix. Im posting this to see if anyone here is getting the problem or has found a fix. The problem is as follows: The computer freezes and the screen goes black for 5 - 15 secounds before going back to normal. A bubble in the corner pops up saying 'nvlddmkm driver has crashed and restarted'. During games it blanks the screen and returns to the game like normal (thats some games, Crysis seems to just crash when it happens). It even happens while just browsing the Internet. People say its D3D, put Vista into Basic mode, but it doesnt fix it. Many people are suggesting memory problems, but ive tryed and no luck yet. My opinion on the new nVidia drivers is that it is complete crap. I have just upgraded from an Intel pentium 4 3ghz, 1gig memory, ATi Radeon 9800pro to an Intel Pentium D 3.2ghz, 2 gig memory, 2x nVidia 8600gt's in SLI and Windows Vista :S. When i install Windows XP on the new computer, and then the newest nVidia Drivers, the screen just blanks out. In Vista, The screen blanks out if i use the very latest (December 2007 196) drivers. Another strange thing is that when i installed my nVidia drivers, my computer would no longer recognise my monitor, and wouldnt go to it's resoulution (1680x1050). This is all very very annoying. I don't know what ATi users are experiencing, i just read that they also get the driver crashes. Is anyone experiencing this? Or does someone have a fix?

  7. well its on one of the live episodes of hak5, i think 2. get a cheap computer powered speaker, and replace the speaker with some LED's. you could mabey change the sequence of the lights with some capacitors and transistors (jus an idea). turn the speakers volume up to max and the lights will pulse to the music.

  18. my school blocked c: to stop spamming mainly (chavs downloading porn and mabey limewire fucking dicks) but i used Servant Salemander to get it unblocked.
  19. hacking my school network : started a while back... at school, our school runs windows xp pro machines, normal setup, net support ie website blocker and some governement inernet proxy... so me and a mate went on IE, and downloaded opera, (suprise it was unblocked).. cos u cant install to the C: drive, we installed it to our personal user documents (located on the server). we then went on a techers computer while they left their desk, and noticed the techers proxy for the internet was different to the students (students port 8082, where as teachers port 8084), so we simply changed it in opera (because settings is blocked in IE). there u go - internet unblocked... then we hit another wall, the computers explorer was locked to the max, so using opera we downloaded a explorer alternative called Servant Salamander, using this trial we could acsess everything on the network and the c: drives - even the registry. i then noticed that some how i'd unblocked the right click on the desktop, so i made a shortcut, and realised it came up on all the screens in the room, so i spammed the desktop for a while (fun), and then decided to download VLC and run HAK5 Season 3 ep 2 as desktop background = HAK5 on every computer screen in the school:P we then torrented (uTorrent) a copy of Age Of Empires 2, and had a little AOE2 tourney during lessons. we did this by hiding the aoe files (cracked) inside the servers backup file, and then making a desktop shortcut to the start menu.... happy days... we wanted more... we wanted steam:P CS 1.6 baby, but we realised the server firewall blocked the steam connection, so refrencing back to an early hak5 episode, (season 1 i think) Darren told us how to turn the firewall off using command prompt, so i used that and bingo, CS1.6 server running on the school server, everyone playing:P:P one more thing... the school has employed a new peice of software that monitors the pc and records what u do (the admins suspect me for everything these days), so to stop this, i make a new notepad document, run the task kill command (for noobs - taskkill /im xxxx.exe) and i jus simply ended the programs process ill tell u about more when we come up with it xD sorry for the copyed post from another topic, but i put it here jus incase someone missed it and needs the information...
