  1. I think I'll try out hamachi, thanks.
  2. What would be the best option for setting-up an option to remote control my office computer from home (both windows-based)? I'm looking for something that will show me the desktop and allow me full control over the computer including access to network files and an option to copy files from/to the remote computer. If possible also an option to login to another network (which will provide an additional ip address) from the controlled computer. P.S. In case anyone is wondering, I'm not looking for something that will remote control a computer in a hidden/stealthy way. The software/method will operate on my computer. Thanks in advance...
  3. I think FreeNAS would be the best option for this situation, thanks.
  4. The drive I'm using (Maxtor OneTouch III Turbo Edition) doesn't support RAID5, only RAID0/1. Also if possible I'm looking for a device that can be connected via FireWire 800 rather than USB2.
  5. I have a Maxtor OneTouch III Turbo Edition 1.5TB and I'm looking to buy a (reasonably inexpensive) network-attached storage device that supports RAID 0 (and if possible RAID 1). I looked at the Linksys NSLU2 but it doesn't support RAID with the factory firmware and I'm not looking to install any of the unofficial firmware (e.g. UnSlug, OpenSlug, etc). Does anyone know of any solution? Thanks in advance.
  6. I'm using Visual C# (within Visual Studio 2005) to code something and I'm looking for way a to include an existing exe file within the project so I can run it within the program I'm creating, the idea is that I end up (after the build) with one exe file that does something and also executes the other exe file. Is there anyway to do this? If not, is there a good alternative? Thanks in advance...
  7. OK, thanks. Just to make sure I'll search for a time machine on eBay and see if I get lucky.
  8. Oh, so there is a way... Isn't there any high-end device that can be used to restore from such a wipe? or a service offered by any company? any paper that has been written an a theoretical way of accomplishing such a thing? Just want to make sure.
  9. Does anybody know about any way (theoretical/practical) to restore a drive that was wiped with DBAN using a PRNG Stream (Mersenne twister with 8 rounds)?
