  1. hey all! When the first hackabout for the la fonera came about on hak5 over a year ago, im still at this stage, so how do i go about upgrading Jasager? Im guessing mines on V1, i don't have it here to check! I plugged it in the other day and it seemed to work, as in i could get on the internet via wifi using it, but i couldn't get to the web interface/ssh into it! I tried both via direct ethernet & over Wifi, trying IP's that i could find i was connected to, or connected to my main router... Once i can get past this basic step i guess we can proceed, my main objective is to use it on a proxy enabled network, but it either has to remain hidden to any software that may be monitoring the network for new devices, or spoof an existing device i.e a laptop thats already been allowed! Can you please help me out with this. :) Thanks.
  2. Ok, i think i got it! Jasager Puts itself to the top of the wifi connect list, and auto coneect to that connection... So all data passes through that router, but making it look like its from the origional network, which means if i had a laptop i could connect Via Ethenet to the Fon.. while the laptops connected to a free(open) wifi net.. and bridge the connections from wifi to lan? Or wouldnt that work? Im only theorizing here, since i dont have a laptop to test with! urgh!
  3. Some jokes ideas! I would just put it on my lap under the table =o or just cover it with a book... =p is there any tuts out there on how to power the la Fonera by USB or batterys?
  4. So.. This slipped my mind, my Jaseger Fon is open, then i connected and saw that i can access my home network, big woopsie, since i have an unpassworded file server, and when my main PC is on you can gain access to shared areas aaswell... Now what would be the best route to stop people connected from the Jasager router viewing the network from my main router? :S And my file server is running ubuntu 8.04 server and my other PC's that are "sharing" are Ubuntu 8.04 desktop, Win Vista and an XP machine... Cheeersss =]
  5. You know, its weird, i havent manged to get this to work, at all via ethenet, and today i powered up the router, connected as usural, looked at the connected devices from my main router, and saw 192.168.0.7, and it bloody worked =o Cheers anyway!
  6. I havent managed to work out what Jasager is and what i can use it for.. Looking at my Jasager page now, in my Connected Clients: BTHomeHub-AB39 00:1b:9e:62:62:b6 Now, is there a way i could packet sniff what there doing? Or what, i mean BTHomeHub-AB39 dousnt look like a computer thats connected it looks like a Router? Which i dont understand? Can someone straitenout the purpose and some tricks for Jasager? Thanks.
  7. hey all i have Jasager running fine, but the only way i can connect to it is via wifi... The fon router is connected to my main router via ethenet.. my main PC is connected to the main router via ethenet aswell, now the two should be on the same network.. So how would i access the Jasager fon router from my main PC? Via web interface and SSH if possable, or am i limated to connect via wifi only? Cheers tom
  8. Ausom, so i have to delete Jasager for this to work then? Cant i just set the correct settings in OpenWRT for this to work? And sorry i dont know what you mean when mentioning "AP"? I know how to setup WIFI on my DS, but i dont know the hardware inside the DS, and i dont know what protocals it reads, so i havent got a clue what i need to set in my DS to connect, i can search and find the router, it just says its not compatable even though its open! thanks - Tom
  9. Nope just connect, so i can use my DS online... But i dont know what to set in the admin CP.. :S
  10. hey all, there has to be a section in the admin CP that will let this new setup work with the nintendo ds lite? of so can somebody please help me set-it up. i have the installed software listed in the tutorial on my little fon machine!
  11. Whey! this took me most of the day, since my la fonera was on the latest firmware, and i couldnt change my default routers DNS (dam sky) so i had to flash an old Fon WRT54GL that i had never used first lol! Anywho after hours and hours, i managed to get everything on the la fonera, it was a bitch seeing that i dont tend to use the wifi.. now, i have my Jasager/wrt fon router plugged into my main sky router (that assigns ips 192.168.0.1 my comp is 192.168.0.4 and the fon router is 192.168.0.7) although i cant get to either web interface via 192.168.0.7 im connected via lan to the sky router.. And when i connect via wifi to the fon router, its like im connected to my sky router, connecting to 192.168.0.1 So im real stuck, can someone help please =]

  13. hey there, i thought instead of adding another topic into the crampt forums, id start by replying to this, as i would love to do this, but runnnig a linux distro, i have one Vista machine, and just know it would be stupid to Run xampp on it and install some apps. . . So im buying a seperate machine. . first question is What are the minamum specs i need to have this server up and running to host a couple of websites? (hardware wise) and i have 8mbps Internet connection download speed. and second, what is the best linux distro to have say XAmpp running for a web server? cheers godsdead.
