  1. For noobs or not, I use it and love it :D Follow (stalk) me at http://twitter.com/The_PHP_Jedi :D Cheers
  2. k1u, please stop posting single word post, as it is disruptive to the thread, and you're not really helping the cause (Not Flaming Noobs). Lets try to stay on topic and post relevant, constructive posts.
  3. They are obviously exceptions, like the ones you posted above, but the 'exception' rule shouldn't be the default option in our minds. Also, adding to point A, try to get the person to find the answers for himself. If he can't give him the first step, most people can go on by themselves once they're given the first step. (Speaking from experience.) Obviously anything illegal is also an exception, but try not to go "OMG GTFO NOW!" at first sight. Try to give the person some kind of idea of the consequences of his actions. Unfortunately, most attempts of this technique fail, so most of us tend to just go on GTFO-mode on these types of people. Just try to guide them back onto the correct path, but don't spend too much effort doing so. It's not worth it if they don't budge the first time.
  4. I agree mate. Most of us have been almost literally flamethrowers ourselves, but we don't think we were once in their position. At least a few of them will turn out to be like us (or better than us!) eventually. We shouldn't hinder the development of others' "inner geek" just because we know more than them. In fact, we should help them! Lets hope this message spreads out and stays in our minds. P.S. Perhaps we should set up a site under a domain like DontFlameNoobs.org or something. :)

    PS3

I got a PS3. One of the first 500,000 in fact. :) It's great. I really don't know what's with everyone complaining about lack of games, it's not like the PS3 is your life 24/7. But each to their own. Anyways, please don't start a flame war in this thread, it'll be locked.
  6. I must agree that the team probably has been producing less WUs than before, but we're still gaining ground. There are many factors that lead to the drop in folding... from power costs, to laziness, to someone (me) not being able to turn on his PS3 due to dead UPS + lack of time, etc... Just hang in there, but thanks for pointing it out :D And I believe we've gotten plugs on Hak.5 Live, but those people who go to IRC/do something else besides watch the show have already done so, we're not getting many people from there... But feel free to tell your friends about F@H and to fold for team 51258!
  7. Awesome. I'll post something up soon :)
  8. Wow, this thread is still alive. To keep you guys updated, the wiki (http://wiki.hak5.org/wiki/Hak.5_Radio) has updated information on Hak.5 Radio, including how to DJ, what to do when something goes wrong, etc.. (it has an extensive FAQ). Also soon hak5radio.com will have a makeover that'll integrate a web based request system with a completely new site. Hopefully you guys will like it. If you want to chat or have any questions not posted on the wiki, please join irc.hak5irc.org #Hak5Radio Once again, thank mubix for setting up the radio, and relaunching it! It's been very successful since the last relaunch!
  9. Well we all know it's spyware... but no need to boycott. If you don't secure your system, then you're screwed. And at whom's expense? nobody's except the people who got their computers screwed up and needed to pay for a technician to fix it. It's quite obviously a rant, but you do have a point... Zango is spyware and should be banned, but hey, nobody regulates the internet, so deal with it.
  10. <? AffinityOS.die('h4x');TomB.die('h4x'); ?> :D
  11. Sorry to hear silivrenion... we were wondering where you were... at least come around IRC a bit... :-( Hope you get a good job and get a house... And yeah, Famicoman is saying the truth, lol.
  12. Nice. You're talking about controlling F@H service remotely? Like in a network or over the internet? That'd be great for people who have clusters, specially those that have it remotely. You should make it work on the PS3 too :P Post here your progress if you wish. :)
  13. Hey guys! I'm glad to announce that mubix got his server back up and got Hak.5 Radio alive again! There is a twist though... it's 100% community based! Basically anyone can connect and stream whatever they want! All the details are on the wiki: http://wiki.hak5.org/wiki/Hak.5_Radio Anyone interested in DJing please read up on "How to Stream" on the wiki article, and to listen in, connect to http://hak5radio.com:8000/listen.mp3.m3u. Hopefully mubix will add a reply to this soon, since he was the one that came up with Hak.5 Radio in the first place! Listen to The Technolust! Tune in or Stream to Hak.5 Radio today!
  14. Any contribution is accepted, and nevermind the PS3s, they aren't in competition with other non-PS3 Folders within the team :) (one of those PS3s is mine, lol) But anyways, keep Folding Your Technolust and remember that what matters is that you participate. :D Also, I like the smell of anuses
  15. They have made progress, mubix. http://folding.stanford.edu/FAQ-diseases.html http://folding.stanford.edu/results.html http://folding.stanford.edu/papers.html
  16. Yeah, let's just leave it there. Any help is thanked, but don't buy 10 Wiis just for F@H, get a PS3. :D
  17. still. 10 Wiis are more expensive than just one PS3. :D
  18. Yeah, don't want to start a Console Flamewar here, but the Wii is a lot less powerful than the XBox and PS3, so it'd be pointless. Wii has low power consumption anyways. Don't want Wii owners to say "How the hell did I get $200 more in my power bill?!!?" :) Anyways, keep Folding Your Technolust!
  19. Welcome to the team Squidly1! Spread the word around :D
  20. I like that last logo by digip. Keep up the good work guys :D I'm *very* excited by Hak.5 Live. It'll finally give the air time community projects need :D
  21. Congrats. Although I would've gotten that job if I were in the UK now :D
  22. haha Darren :P Yeah, thanks for the ringtone patrick :) still have it in my playlist, although an actual Hak.5 theme song ringtone should be made, and a higher quality one from the Hak.5 Live theme.
  23. Yeah, mubix should edit this post, or make a new one regarding KGMRRadio.com ... it's kinda confusing keeping the old name here in the Forums. :) Hak.5 Radio will live in our souls forever.... *salutes*
  24. Well this thread has died down.... thanks for the support anyways! We're up to 328!
