  1. If you wanted to. But the keylog is accessible remotely as well. No need to physically retrieve it.
  2. yes https://shop.hak5.org/products/omg-cable ctrl+f "hardware keylogger" 😁
  3. That sounds like what is described on the product page for Directional C to C cable. But if you think you have something broken, you should use support instead of the forums.
  4. Yep Intentionally basic example:

    USB debbuging

In my experience, disabling USB debugging only disables USB debugging, not HID input. OMG Cables have continued working just fine on devices with USB debugging disable.
  6. You can use Payload Studio as a test "sandbox" if you would like. But all of the O.MG Devices have a full WebUI built into the firmware that handles all of the operations, including payload writing/compiling/execution.
  7. Yeah it’s tricky. Monitoring the data lines will work for some of the less stealth devices. But with OMG Cables, you wouldn’t see anything on the data lines. That’s because the implant doesn’t touch the data lines until a payload is initiated. Even when the OMG is doing keylogging, it’s doing completely passive sniffing so you won’t see anything on the data lines to indicate a problem. Whereas most keyloggers act as a proxy, which means they become active USB devices and are very easy to see on the data lines.
  8. Just to point out the obvious: the Malicious Cable Detector is for auditing cables. As for auditing a random electronic, there is no easy answer there. People have entire careers doing this. Comparing against a known good version is generally the easiest starting point.
  9. https://forums.hak5.org/topic/51710-omg-devices-read-me-first-~~this-forum-is-not-where-you-get-support~~/
  10. make sure to read the 3 paragraphs on keylogging in the instructions https://github.com/O-MG/O.MG-Firmware/wiki
  11. All language mappings are listed under the help menu. Please note: these forums are community support and not an official support channel.
  12. As the sales page and setup instructions detail: the built in keylogger is a USB keylogger. If you want to deploy a software keylogger by using a duckyscript payload, that's certainly up to you.
  13. You can find the instructions here https://o.mg.lol/setup Please note: these forums are community support and not an official support channel.
  14. The keylogger was designed to be placed between a keyboard and the device the keyboard is connected to. And that's what all the product text, instructions, example pictures, and demo videos show. Think of it kind of like the Key Croc, except without leaving a visible adapter in the connection path. The keylogger version of the OMG Cable has been quite a bit more popular than the nonkeylogger version. So, you'll probably find other customers who are willing to share some of their use-cases in the chat channels.
  15. No need to read through hours of docs! The majority of what you need is in the official setup docs, which is currently a one page wiki. It's linked from the setup url on the product packaging: https://github.com/O-MG/O.MG_Cable-Firmware/wiki You are looking for the Keylogger section
  16. https://shop.hak5.org/products/o-mg-cable-usb-a should answer this with: “The Keylogger Edition retains full features of the standard O.MG Cable and adds a Keylogger capable of storing up to 650,000 keystrokes. The Keylogger Edition was specifically built to be used against keyboards with detachable cables. Please see the developer page for information about the status of firmware features, supported keyboards, and more.”
  17. The new v2 firmware is unified for all OMG cables (one single firmware for all cables)
  18. 😄 For those who stumble on this thread: all the O.MG stuff has a single url that points you at the specific setup info for any given product: https://o.mg.lol/setup While the keylogger is under pre-release development, we are keeping everything isolated into the pre-release channels. Those little orange clips in the envelopes help visually tag your cables, as it sounds like you found out. We are about to release a unified firmware that works on all cable models so you don’t have to keep track of which is which. The firmware will just know! Then those little orange clips will just let you identify an evil cable from a normal one 🙂
  19. Firstly, this is NOT an official support channel. In fact, most people who can help you don't even check the forums. If you want help from some of the O.MG devs or community members with extensive experience, join the chat server listed in the setup instructions. The setup link (included on the envelope and card insert) is here: https://o.mg.lol/setup, this is where you will find setup instructions, official support chat channels, warranty requests, etc
