  1. I have a question about getting video from sites. I have Googled this and come up with solutions for sites like youtube or many other things that I need. Generally to get video from a site I use a firefox plug in called Unplug. This works great for most things, but does anyone know of anything else when Unplug doesn't work? I really searched this but each software had their own agenda. I just want a free solution that works. P.S. One example is on this site, there is a movie trailer that I want to put on my ipod. unplug doesn't work, and I don't know that much about anything so...
  2. Easy, just do a couple of episodes more on youtube or make a section on the forums that evolves everyday hacks for beginners. They should be very cheap to do and just fun, people have to start learning somewhere. It wouldn't even have to be software hacks, just any kind of hack to make someone life easer.
  3. You have to turn on the setting to get the artist info and mine does that also. It says that but check your folder path because mine gives me those messages but works and puts the music where I specify.
  4. Ok so I followed this first version of how to do this and like other times I have followed all the steps properly. Pandora Jar runs and the console does also. It looks like it works and even says grabmp3() complete. However, when I look in the folder specified the music is not there. Also the pandora jar java box that runs gives me messages like this... Software caused connection abort: socket write error localhost connected to server. localhost connected to server. unable to rip MP3 unable to find file make sure you have Pandora running in a FIRFOX browser I am using FF just for the record. I see above you downgraded FF. Did that work? If so how do I do that? Will I loose my extensions?
  5. I don't know if this is a stupid idea, becuase I don't know how much about computers and stuff you know, but if it keeps not working. Take it into best buy (I cn't believe im suggesting this THEY SUCK BIG TIME) and tell them whats wrong. Depending on what people you have at best buy you could have your problem fixed. I know one best buy that sux by me, but another by my friend has like this computer genius in it.

    Logo Design

Hello. I don't know if I should do this, but for the first time in a long time I am stumped. I am trying to make a logo for a contest on a site. These are what the guidelines for it are... # Your design should represent the geek and gaming lifestyle. The design, whether it be imagery or a clever phrase must hit home and be very familiar, understandable, and appealing to anyone that is a hardcore computer geek and/or video gamer. # Anything relevant to the lifestyle of someone who plays video games or is a dedicated computer geek may be used; hardware, familiar objects from video games, weaponry, retro game pads, geek speak, funny phrases a gamer or geek might say or understand, emoticons, circuit boards, robots, geeky pop-culture spoofs, pirates, ninjas, aliens, zombies, anything that happens after 3am, geeky spin on familiar phrases / catch phrases / punchlines, etc... The client is a company with an innovative thought process, they like out-of-the-box thinking, thought provoking designs, things that make you go "hhmmmm", and pretty much anything else that would be considered extremely creative or unique. I was thinking of doing something like a definition of noob or something, but Idk. I thought this would be the perfect place to ask for ideas. Normally I would come up with my own idea, but I am in a rut, and need to win this contest. Moonlit: Added topic. Please use descriptive topics when posting.
  7. Soon I could received an extra home computer for personal use. It is very old, and it wasn't a very good computer to start with. Its a dell something or another with basic setup (Copy link below for picture), but there was recently 80 dollars worth of ram put into it. What I want to do is make it into a home entertainment system..... Hear is what I am thinking of doing..... 1. Getting a free OS like Lunix that doesn't take up much hard drive. 2. Then I would work my magic and put all the computer settings on lowest, and take off all programs I don't want like everything besides word, Firefox, and a few others. 3. I have various sources I was then planning on getting some programs from. Just some simple movie players and music players. 4. If the computer is still slow I would possibly see about having someone overclock it. What I was wondering is if this would work. I obviously would want it hooked up to my tv and speakers, but what else could I do besides play music and movies. (since the hard drive isn't very big I would probably buy a bigger one, but you can get ones on ebay for fairly cheap) Could I do things like put movies on there compressed and then have them open unzip, and play when I wanted them to? Is there a program that would like give me a list of files I have on the system and when I click on one unzip it and run it automatically? If there isn't a program like that what other options would I have. Also is there a way to hook up a remote control to a computer? What do you think? I don't really need to have a sweet home entertainment center but it would be cool to see what my dad and I could do. Also the catch is I have a low budget. Maybe money for a new HD on Ebay, and possibly some other things depending on how cool it could be. http://cgi.ebay.com/DELL-OPTIP LEX-GX50-COMPUTER-TOWER-1-2GHZ -256MB-OF-RAM_W0QQitemZ3301034 38410QQihZ014QQcategoryZ140070 QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem://http://cgi.ebay.com/DELL-OPTIP LEX-...1QQcmdZViewItem://http://cgi.ebay.com/DELL-OPTIP LEX-...1QQcmdZViewItem://http://cgi.ebay.com/DELL-OPTIP LEX-...1QQcmdZViewItem://http://cgi.ebay.com/DELL-OPTIP LEX-...1QQcmdZViewItem://http://cgi.ebay.com/DELL-OPTIP LEX-...1QQcmdZViewItem://http://cgi.ebay.com/DELL-OPTIP LEX-...1QQcmdZViewItem

    Broken USB

Broken USB I have a USB Flash drive I broke by putting in the wash. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to use it for. I once saw a little thing you could make that connected a usb port to batteries so you could charge your Ipod or cell phone for a little extra juice on the go. Would that still work or do you think its shot?
  9. ........? What no, i can't just reinstall OS because its a family computer so ya, but any other suggestions?
  10. Hello, a while back I bough a copy of Adobe Photoshop CS2 off Ebay, but unfortinently when I got it it was a pirated 30 day trial version. I don't want to do anything Illigal persay, but what can I do? I really need the program and can't afford a new copy. It asks for a serial number.
  11. Hello everyone I am new to these forums and recently became a fan of the show. It has great stuff, I don't mean to start out on these forums asking probably annoying questions but I have one. If you install hacksaw or switchblade on a USB do you have to run it every time you put it in a computer? I mean will it always automatically start collecting the information or can you make it so you have to open a certain file first. Also same question about the antidote. Hello again hope to see new episodes out soon. P.S. Lol whats a good moral reason for using hacksaw or switchblade? Just wondering because then I can justify getting it. Really I have no use for it except I think its sweet. Location: U.S. Favourite game: UT 2004 Favourite OS: windows Favourite console: Wii or PC Nationality: U.S. German Heritage Accent: ?????
