If my cell phone is using my wi-fi for access to the internet, can SMS messages be read using a packet sniffer? Two questions must be answered- assuming an android cell phone or tablet is set up to use the wi-fi in my house when it's there, are SMS messages sent via the wi-fi and my network and my isp; or do they still travel via the cell network? Q2: are said SMS messages encrypted?
Additionally, which Hak5 product would be the best to use for this simple packet sniffing assuming I have full access to the hardware of my network? I would need to record a few days worth of data, and then analyze it later (probably using Wireshark or recommend???)
