  5. Well you could always just reflash it...buy a usb/ethernet nas device and create a pirate box. http://wiki.daviddarts.com/PirateBox Or flash it back into a normal useful router : http://www.gargoyle-router.com/index.php Ultimately..the fonera has many uses...
  6. It has a few other built in testing functions such as line voltages etc...alligator clips and probes for testing the circuits on mdf's ...
  7. Often referred to as a butt/buttinski/rugabutt/bluebutt dependent on the manufacturer and/or model. ebay has them : http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-Test-Butt-Set-Sets-Lineman-Telephone-Phone-/320578747250?pt=AU_B_I_Electrical_Test_Equipment&hash=item4aa3fb7b72
  8. It takes time and dedication and an understanding of the inner workings of the universe... kinda like using a mac.
  9. Hey Snubs, have a go at eating it with cheese on toast too... :D
  10. Hey...I eat vegemite from the jar! Only a teaspoon at a time though. My great uncle was a P.O.W of the japanese during WW2. When they made it back to Australia they were severely malnourished. To bring them back to health they were fed a "vegemite soup", as this was the only thing they could really stomach for a long time. It's an acquired taste to be sure, but I'd like to hear from all the aussies out there. Let's educate these guys on how vegemite should be eaten! My favourite?...vegemite and lettuce sandwiches!!
  11. Not so much sci-fi but computer hacker/cyberpunk related... Daemon and it's sequel Freedom Inc by Daniel Suarez. I found them to be an excellent read. Also SnowCrash by Neal Stephenson Both awesome! btw both on audible.com

  17. I still maintain that this flick is one of the best little hacker/virus movies i've seen. http://www.insecuritymovie.com/
  18. There's a thread in the Fonera section of the forums at the moment, but then I came across this variation. http://wiki.daviddarts.com/PirateBoxLaptop_DIY Fonera and its' various forms aren't readily available in Australia and I thought about using a WRT54G setup instead but I only have the one and well cash aint in plentiful supply. SO...I reckon Davo 111's HFS powered PirateBox looks pretty good to play with. But i still like the idea using a device that's small portable and battery powered. I do have an original fonera with the Jasager hack but sigh no Fon+ love. Does anyone else have any ideas?
  19. Hey guys, WE're currently getting tail winds from this mother at the moment. We're pretty much ok. Innisfail a smaller town up north is going to be wiped out. check pics and technical info here: http://forum.weatherzone.com.au/ubbthreads.php/topics/945157/16 Almost as big as Katrina.
  20. This is great news, i love my ps3, i really do it's an awesome console and a great media device for playback. The opportunity for me to play around with the device at a more granular level of running anything on it just makes me love it more. SOny may have a real opportunity here to put their hand up and say yeah we fucked up but then embrace the possibility of working with the greater community for something better. Maybe something along the lines of an "app" sotre kinda thing where the community is encouraged to develop new stuff with SOny ratifying the process. Or you have the choice of using your own shit, voiding your warranty and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz'your fuck up is your problem" kinda thang. Thoughts?
