Some of you might know that I run the IPTV Archive and likewise I am looking for certain iptv videos. However as opposed to the common vidcasts of today, I am looking for the rough-around-the-edges internet video stuff from the 1990's. Stuff that people got off of Napster and exchanged by sneakernet. I was reminded of this scene when looking through the Hak5 Documentary posted a few days ago which redirected me to the "Story of Hak5" special from the Hak5 Best of DVD.
So ultimately, this is me asking if anyone has any of these types of videos. I'm looking for anything from the era, the stuff that was vidcasting before there was vidcasting. Think like Captain Immy, and even maybe like Hack Productions to a lesser extent. I'm not sure if that was ever released online, but it has a similar feel.
I have already located some of the Captain Immy videos on youtube,
I know that another video, entitled Pornokombat is out there somewhere, and I'm looking for other Captain Immy/LMSDC/LickMySweaty content.
The clips in question that reminded me,

Presenting IPTV Archive MKII

I was reading your thread and just wanted to say I have experienced similar behavior. I have an ip range 64.41.145.* that accesses a site I run and disguises itself as Internet Explorer 6. Doing some googling I found that it is a private company that scans websites for customers to see if it contains any of their copyrighted content.
I assume your server is getting a similar scan. You should be able to edit your .htaccess and redirect all the offending ips to something like google.com so they can't scan your site.
It isn't a ddos.
Because you all didn't get my pm, but might want to know

This has come up quite a bit through the past years. It all comes down to "would you really be willing to join a vpn with a bunch of "hackers". A vpn with complete strangers.
-
You missed a handful. Should go through the posts of the user, not just stumbled around for them. <3 IPB

How old are you? I allways thought you were one of the adults around here...and a more positive role model.
Well, if you are underage, at least you carry yourself like a mature adult. An example some of the other young ones around here could learn to live by. Only goes to show you can't stereotype hackers(or people in general), at any age level.

I'm not old enough, but even if I was, I would not.

I think this could turn out really well. The hardest part isn't launching these projects, but keeping them going.

This sounds like someone took the #hak5auditorium and ran with it, as moonlit said. That was Amish's baby if I remember... what ever happened to him?

server at home. a shell at least. windows if you want out of the box door games.
In all honesty, synchronet has functionality in like 3 mins out of the box. If I could set one of those up when I was here and like 13 years old, you should have no problem. Easy setup "wizard".

I wrote that tutorial so long ago. I haven't used the webhost I had the pictures hosted on in years.

The oldest thing I have is a screenshot,

it needs to be two words

If I was still a mod, I'd move this to the community projects forum. But since I'm not, I'll just say that that's the place for BBS talk now. Just don't recreate this thread there, that's bad mojo. Wait for it to be moved.

I was actually considering removing those back in the day. Default synchronet stuff can get pretty bizarre.
-
The mods have known about those for at least a year. I still find that page funny.

Very interesting thread. While I do believe the audience of the show has had a huge shift, it looks like the only people that stick around and actively utilize the forums are the ones from the beginning.
-
@DLSS, I completely agree. I meant it as Hak5 seems stays separate from the Rev3 machine influence. However, the show itself has taken a huge change by itself. Whether that is good or bad is your opinion.
-
I love it when I look through this thread, and find out about how some of you hate Rev3 SO MUCH.
That used to be something of the accepted practice. A few seasons back there was a lot of "we're gonna do better then Rev3" and it became a sort of unspoken thought, and a bit of that rivalry still shows up. People went to Hak5 because they thought it was above Rev3, people went to Rev3 because they thought it was above Hak5. Few people thought they could actually blend and survive with the respective formats at the time.
Host booter. For Halo 3

Don't download it. Period. It IS bound with malicious code. Usually people will bind the botnet bot code to the booter in order to get more bots to effectively DDoS the target. Not only does this application promote unlawful distributed denial of service, but it also goes against the Xbox Live TOS. You will become infected if you use it.
