You do eventually have to wipe it and start over though.  It tends to leave ---- when you remove old distros.

Agreed. It can be a bit finicky with multiple Windows installs as well..

If you pick up code quick you can edit the menu files to customise the interface too 🙂 Just keep in mind that YUMI will play around with it if you add more ISOs to the USB after configuring the menu - and you will need to play around with the menu files after adding / removing ISOs.

  2. https://www.synology.com/en-global/support/nas_selector

This is the best option, in my opinion. You could even turn them into iSCSI targets to get some pretty ridiculous speeds.

Also, you get a lot of other perks (multimedia server, virtual machines, web servers, desktop syncing, spreadsheet syncing and role-based access hubs, as well as most other kinds of servers you can think of). There's a nice web interface for all of that with third-party apps and there are iOS/Android apps (DS Video, DS Audio) which can make use of the multimedia server very well (say goodbye to PLEX). Depending on how much storage you need I'd recommend a DS718+ or DS918+.

One downside I should point out - Mac users love them. Because they're very simple, like Macs. Let's be honest Synology is basically the Apple of NAS and router products.

Ill make a suggestion to secure your connection.

set up on your home network a server. I run a gaming desktop configured to allow remote access.

    ( 6t raid drive)

    ftp

    Ssh

    Vnc

    Http

    Vpn

    Squid proxy.

Maybe a few others I forget to mention.

If you absolutely need a secure connection. Squid proxy will do this for you. When your located at a public wifi and your extremely paranoid. Connect back home and use your squid proxy to encrypt your connection.

    (Squid or vpn will work.)

This wil depend on your phone or device is capable of using a proxy for the apps you use.

A labtop you can simply configure your system proxy settings.

I never understood why people want to setup a VPN server through their home PC..it's bad almost every way I look at it. Location, data, etc. It's all compromised if it's traced back to a home address. At least with a more public VPN it's just traced back to a company that provide the VPN service, which has no involvement with you..

  4. Of course it's possible..look at Chromecast.

It'll have to act as a display adapter so the computer will communicate its display with it though, and it'll need to also act as HID input, but other than that..

The Bash Bunny may be able to achieve this even - if it had WiFi and USB 3.0-3.1..

If the USB acted as a display adapter you could control what display mode it's using too (through HID, most likely). For example you could hide the real monitor and just have the screen on your monitor, you could have a copy of their screen or you could extend, for whatever reason..

The trouble will be with the transmitter, obviously. Might be able to rig a RPi0w up.

  5. It's a big yikes from me when the Australian Government says "because we want access to anything and everything, everything is now insecure. Now give me access to your ... app, is it? I got no idea I just want access to it. Gimme!"

Relevance? Encryption/SSL is now ineffective against the government if you're using a service in Australia. You'd have to tunnel a VPN through whatever you're using, even then the VPN traffic could be traced back to you through billing or whatever else.

  6. I would think you're generally pretty safe provided you've got an SSL certificate that's doing it's job. If you're doing general surfing and stuff you're pretty right, but I wouldn't put any bank details or anything like that over the WiFi, even with a 256-bit SSL certificate that Chrome says is Secure.

On my phone? Tap off the WiFi, put your details in and do your thing on 4G, swap back to WiFi..In saying that I don't know how safe 4G really is.

You can VPN if you want but...yeah. Some bigger VPNs (especially free ones) are probably more dangerous than they are useful.

  7. Yeah running Windows on a machine that has 4 GB of RAM will not be a nice experience considering you're coming from a machine that's more powerful than it is.

I could find a second-hand laptop with far better specs than that for under $500 AUD. Spending $1400 AUD on a laptop with only 4 GB of RAM is a complete rip-off, in my opinion. I would suggest looking into Lenovo laptops or waiting for a good deal (locally or online) on a laptop. It's quite common to find deals as almost everyone has a laptop, they're very common.

If I wanted a laptop for daily use with a good footprint I'd choose a Lenovo, I reckon. Thinkpads, Yogas, etc.

    hi everyone,

Playing Asphalt 8 is a great way to kill time. There are a lot of games on the market right now, one would say way too much, but not a single one of them can match Asphalt 8 airborne mod apk. It is the best racing game on Android and even on iOS right now.

For anyone who wants to play the real game I would use this link:

    http://www.gameloft.com/asphalt8/

Wouldn't want them going the wrong way would we @ounioun363?

  9. Very impressed with some of the latest smartphone releases, and even some slightly older ones.

OnePlus 6T (on-screen fingerprint detection, very cheap price for what it is..)

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 (impressive screen display and pop-up front camera, still quite cheap)

Razer Phone 2 (a bit less impressive than the others but still interesting)

Asus ROG Phone (very impressive idea, probably won't take off but it's out there if you want an expensive gaming phone)

Pixel 3 (very, very impressive camera)

Any of you considering an upgrade? ?

Honestly I'm thinking of trading for a OnePlus 6T from my OnePlus 5T. Very premium-looking and -feeling phone for such a cheap price compared to it's competitors. ASUS ROG looks very gimmicky and amazing with it's air triggers but I rarely play games on my phone..makes Fortnite for mobile a bit more viable though, still no replacement for a controller.

if you think your girlfriend is cheating on you then obviously you dont trust her and you should move on.

Don't you think it would be fair to give your own girlfriend the benefit of the doubt until you have solid proof??? Man..

My advice would be to confront her about it. A wise woman would appreciate that you're worried about that kind of thing. Depends on the person, how long you've been together and how much you know each other. But if you went into a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship I would hope you already knew a lot about each other, riiiight? And then you wouldn't have to worry, because you know her.

But if you suspect she's talking very intimately with other boys online you have trust issues with her which means you know deep down you don't know her very well.

  11. First, let me ask you a question. I don't mean to be rude when I say this by the way.

Did you come to a hacking forum you found on the internet to ask how to be that guy that thinks he's having all the fun in the world running around shooting people while he can't be hit because he's teleporting constantly?

If so...you've come to the wrong forum. If not, and you're genuinely asking why it happens, instead of how to do it (which is exactly what you asked), then I'm sure someone will be very happy to explain why it happens, and maybe even how they do it, if you're lucky. I might even do it, however I'm not convinced you're not just asking to learn how to cheat in a game.

Evga Gtx 1070 ti sc ($370)

    I see online hashcat wpa/wpa2 almost 300,000 hash/s

I made up my mind... I'm getting 2 of these for sure, maybe 3...

There's a reason why 1070/1070 Ti's were ridiculously sought after during the crypto-currency time, and that was because people were filling server-racks with them because they were the cheapest and best for the buck. Next was 1080 Ti but that was a jump of just over twice the price.

I myself have a 1080 Ti in my own rig. Before that it was a 1050 Ti which has a pretty poor hash-per-second rating for its power consumption so don't bother with one of those.

I would probably downgrade the RAM to 2400 MHz. Save you a fair few dollars and you won't notice the difference performance-wise.

Can't say I approve of all the AMD base-hardware (Mobo/CPU) but I haven't used it for yonkers so I can only hope it's better than it once was. I'm all-out Intel, although to be fair it's more expensive. More like the Apple of PC hardware, while AMD is more like Android.

Nice, the forum doesn't allow the OP to edit his own thread.

You can't edit your posts as a new user. You have to have a certain amount of posts before given that privilege. It can be annoying, but if you don't rush your post it's not a problem.

What I wanted to do was to have the user type in a website domain and get the contents of that website altered so I could add some code to it, and I wanted to do that only by changing his DNS servers.

Change his DNS servers to a replica page you created based on the real site. Make the changes you want. That's what everyone else does, unfortunately. No-lifers preying on people who don't know how dangerous the internet can be.

You would know how to do this by simply having general knowledge about DNS servers, HTTP ports and web servers. Maybe JS/PHP, depending on the type of payload. Information you could get anywhere. But you know, of course you wouldn't ever be immediately malicious to someone because you obviously sound like you have tonnes of experience and are definitely not asking very to-the-point questions. ?

I'm not sure I follow what you mean by daisy chaining a second non-PoE switch.

I mean plug a non-PoE switch into the first switch, and then plug the laptop into the second switch (daisy-chaining is just linking lots of the same thing, basically).

You could still see if it does anything - only if you've got another switch lying around. The aim is to reduce the immediate load on the first switch and see if it helps. If so, there's probably an issue with that switch.

    It may not help, though.
