  1. Sorry team, I didn't realise that. I'm super new here and can totally understand the user wanting all the info spoon-fed but agree there needs to be sum onus on the individual to do a lil study. Its certainly easier just to badger people but the knowledge gained by experimentation is more readily retained and worth a little more...I figure anyway.
  2. Yep, worked beautifully thanks bud. Four hours up time and counting (given I'd be lucky to break 10 mins before I'll take that as a win.) Can reach Pineapple management AP whilst I'm on my regular home wifi network - no need to even connect to the pineapple management one. Although that works too should the need arise. Thanks so much, nice to be able to focus on the practice now instead of just getting it to stay on. Cheers Brad
  3. ...which would far and away be the easiest route but in case that doesn't clarify everything... wanna give us some more info? Which method are you using to try and connect? Windows, Mac or Linux OS etc..? How far along can you get and where does it fall over for you?
  4. Okay I feel quite the fool. Will test that as soon as I get home. Thanks so much for taking the time bud, really appreciate it.
  5. Hi Smarty. Sorry, super newb question here but given what you just said...how does any device connect to our rogue generated APs? Does this mean the pineapple is good only for OPN networks? Thanks.
  6. The implementation of HSTS within new browsers has made this extremely difficult if not impossible. One of the experts here said he had a way to do this but being a newb it was all nonsense to me. He didn't seem too keen on walking me through what was some very complicated gear.
  7. After further research... Seems directly connecting the Pineapple to a router is not that straight forward a process because your router (via DHCP) will assign the pineapple an IP in the 192.168.x.x etc range but it needs/expects that 172...etc address. Have found a few snippets about actually having the pineapple work on that 192 address instead of the 172 but it didn't work for me (could easily have been doing it wrong as I found it damn complicated). Everyone said not to do that anyway as it would break certain features of the pineapple. You can obviously assign manual and static IP's to devices through your router management but again, only in the 192...range. Thats how it is in my router setup/admin anyway. Suspect thats only why it works that way for the first 20 mins or so... then the router assigns it a 192... IP which doesn't work and you can no longer find the Pineapple. Given the size of the tetra, I liked the idea of leaving it set-up in my house, next to the router, at least during the practice stages. Would have saved a bunch of money and bought the Nano if I'd known I had to use this 'portable' setup to talk to the pineapple though. I haven't really found anything or heard from anyone (developer or otherwise) that knows how to remedy this.
  8. Yeah I have same problem. Made the post about it thats below this one back out on the contents page https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/39848-direct-connection-from-tetra-to-router/ pineapple directly connected to modem/router via ethernet cord and can connect via wifi for the first 15 20 mins...then nothing after that: doesnt work without redoing setup again.
  9. Hi everyone, New user here so please forgive me for any 'no brainer' questions/issues I'm about to voice: I would like to connect the Pineapple directly (via ethernet cable) to my home router. Please, I know this has been discussed before here in the forums. I've read everything relevant I can find on it but the closest I could get was this post: Where Sebkinne kindly suggested the poster review the info at: http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/uci/network I have been to that link but am still unable to work this out. Seems to me I need to stop the LAN port on the pineapple being assigned an IP by the router. I cant do it through the router, as it expects all 192.168.x.x address' and that doesn't suit the Pineapple. Anyone there that could step me through this? Being able to leave it at home, constantly connected while I practiced was sort of the point of buying the not as portable Pineapple Tetra model. Note: I have been able to do the initial setup of the pineapple while its connected in this fashion and then I can later login/reach the Pineapple via wifi. However when I try to do that same trick (connect via wifi) 20 mins later, the page just times out and is never reached again. Thanks team.
  10. Hi Zylla, appreciate the prompt response. Unfortunately its of little to no use to me; Id be lying if I said I understood more than 50% of what you explained above. Pretty new here. Clearly I've got a whole bunch of learning to do! Would just love a repeat of some of the tutorials Darren and the crew have put on youtube... only geared for modern OS's and browsers. Thanks heaps though mate.
  11. Agreed. Have asked around for a more, relevant, up-to-date tutorial to be put out that shows any sort of Pineapple attack on anything other than a windows 7 browser in 2012... still waiting.
