Thank you guys for responding. For some strange reason this does work on my mac. Im on 10.11.6.

Spotlight is a powerful entry point to the mac. Must make this work :-).

This simple script doesnt seem to work:

DELAY 3000
GUI SPACE <-- This doesnt open the Spotlight search bar
DELAY 500
STRING texteditor.app
DELAY 500
ENTER
DELAY 750
STRING Hello World!!!
ENTER
